So I did a search over the past few days and haven't stumbled on anything that hit my particular brand of "oh sh-"
The preface: I have an old latex appliance. I need more than one of it.
What I was thinking: Stuff it with something rigid -> Make a mold of now rigid latex -> Cast a brand new appliance!
My questions/concerns: This may sound incredibly stupid BUT I'm gonna say it anyway. I know a release agent for latex works for releasing the latex from a mold... will it still work if the mold material is the one curing? I'm really paranoid about effing up the original because its the only one. Ever. And I do not want to eff it up and have to start from scratch.
Any advice or help on this would be appreciated.
I was thinking of using Ease Release 200? Mostly because I can't remember if I actually cast the thing in latex originally or some other form of rubber.
And Smooth-On's Econ 80 or Body Double for the mold. Mostly because I don't want to run into this problem again by making a mold that will last.
Any advice or tips would be GREATLY appreciated.
