Jun 11, 2012 - Can this Bust be Modified #1

I would like this bust to be modified in a way that the helmet is worn and the arm is to the back, much like the Tie Pilot Bust

If anyone has the bust and thinks that this can or cannot be done please post below

    Thanks.

Looking at it, I'd be quick to give it a "no". The biggest problems I'm seeing are that a) the thing is all one solid piece, so removing the helmet from the arm will require a lot of fabricating and touching up, and b) who's to say the helmet will actually fit the head?

Anything can be done but the question is how much work do you want to put in on this piece. The entire head would need sanding down and assuming the helmet is hollow it still may need to be cut up our cut out of his arm entirely and a completely new helmet would need tho be sculpted on to the head.

I would say "yes", but for the fact that you'd need to cut the helmet off and hollow it out.

Seriously, figure guys do that sort of thing all the time. What's it moulded in, though? Polystone? Real sod to work with, that; could complicate the arm mods.

The more important question is if it΄s separate, or if it needs to be removed from the arm.

The helmet is hollow and nicely detailed inside. I'd say that it is doable but I wouldn't spoil an otherwise great bust. ( I have one too )

Then the modding should be fairly easy. The hard part will likely be to match the factory paint job, unless the whole thing is repainted.

Well if anyone thinks they can do this for me contact me at bobadebt@ec.rr.com

I don’t have a figure but but if I decide to do this I could buy one and have it sent directly to you

I'm basically looking to make a mirror image of the Tie Pilot Bust that GG released.

It doesn't have to look like Luke and a full repaint wouldn’t be an issue
