I can take constructive critism but I can't take blunt comments like you gave... constructive is when you say sumthing could be improved and explain how you think it could be inproved.... if you can't explain how then shut up coz you don't know what your talking about and you are probably being just negative for negatives sake... end of!

Politics ??? whatever you like mate

I'm a fan of the film and love the character thats why I've commented, It is nice to see a different take on him as I said

I think you have a problem with any one making any sort of comment about your work unless it's positive so you can bend what I've said all you like theirs no hidden agenda here

I have not insulted anyone, thats my opinion from looking at the pictures and I feel that the likeness isn't quiet their yet so if it was me, I'd work on that before adding scar details

It's quiet obvious that anything other than praise mentioned regarding your work sets you off on a retaliation mission against someone for having an opinion, yet looking at your posts you like to give yours, so maybe except a little back now and then without making it personal

all that said I'm looking forward to see how this progresses as I'm sure it will be a great bust

Keep up the good work and im looking forward to seeing this progress.

Here we go Frosty homing in on the negatives...

You guys don't seem to understand the underlying issues and politics that go on in here... I know who suckface is mates with... that doesn't mean hes being influenced in his opinion but I know with my experience of prop forums that people tend to side with their friends and favourites and have a dig at what they see to be the opposition to try and derail and start fights... it won't of course work with me... It just makes me even more determined to make my work perfect

Politics? I can pull up alot of YOUR posts as well and there is a pattern of you attacking ANYONE who has an opinion other than praising you, constructive or not. Now your telling members to SHUT UP? If you cant take people giving there honest opinion, constructive or not, maybe you shouldnt post your work, its a public forum and its going to happen, right or not. You know this. Attacking members, telling them to shut up and insisting that anyone who has a negitive or constructive( in there eyes) opinion is just being political.....is childish.

Phil don't sweat the comments you know to be negative. I know from a couple of friends that they take sculpting very passionately to such a degree and my observation is that like any perfectionist you don't always respond how others may like. Look at Vash with his Depp bust for argument sake he does all that work and someone gets on and says the cheek line is wrong of course the guy was right and the comments were taken very well and bust improved.

You do it yourself. I've seen many times kudeos for your work and a sense of achievement and then it's mainly you that decides to resculpt the piece etc as you're always tinkering. It certainly won't stop people from having an opinion either way and it's damn frustrating no doubt as you've studied the character to death at what should be an expert level but other eyes and opinions are also good which I'm sure you know. As I said to Thomas recently don't let anyone deter you to the point where you don't want to post as that's them winning. This hobby is political. Full of jealousy about accuracy, money, who's getting the praise and so fourth.

I'm looking forward to this, no doubt it will be the ledger to have amongst some great ones already.

    Thanks....

Also need to point out this is only the beginning... After I've completed the basic sculpt it will be detailed beyond belief... none of this random stuff with cat combs and talc. I've discovered a newer technic thats far more effective in this material so, believe me, this thing will look so alive that it might even move if you look at it to long

As a newer member, with no "political allegiance" (really...?) I can honestly say that so far I do not see Heath's likeness. I do however see a fantastically detailed looking sculpt in it's early stages, and will look forward to seeing more of this, I love seeing the sculpts evolve.

    Thanks....

I do however feel myself that the likeness is pretty good already even if the expression and lack of hair is probably throwing you.

Heres a earlier pic of the sculpt, with different lighting, before modifying the teeth

I'm new and have absolutely no skills in modelling like this so I think what you have done is really spectacular! I'm glad I have no ability to do this because I think I can appreciate it more than others.

I've no political allegiance to anyone here.
As someone who over the course of five years has spent alot of time studying the look and mannerisms of The Joker as portrayed by Heath Ledger, I definitely DO see a fantastic likeness in this stage of your sculpt.
Only little thing I can see thats niggling me a little is the right scar. I think it should be built up slighly more (maybe it's just me).

Now thats what I call a completely inoffensive constructive critique

Yeah all these I will look into as I start working through the details of this inspirational character.

Gee, lets see, Ive done or am doing work with bobby, Howard, rich, pat magee, john allred, ryan pintar just to name a few, Ya.......sure sounds like politics to me and that Im only a fan of one artist and dig at all the rest.........RIDICULOUS! The only one playing politics is YOU!!! You have a really bad attitude and it shows. Youve done the same attacking to other members on statue forum as well, rants and raves. I can post them for you if you like. I can also post 40-50 posts as well of mine praising your work as well. SOME POLITICS!!

Right and I'm a fan of certain sculptors aswell... Mike Hill, Arnie Kim, Kazuhiro Tsuji, Ron Mueck oh and Michelangelo.... to many to mention

I think its getting into derailing hijacking my thread territory here... this is supposed to be about my work here not your opinions of me personally... You've not once commented about this sculpt... just me.,,, you're trying to esculate the issue you have and attacking me directly. This forum isn't a free-for-all as you are suggesting. It has certain rules to prevent what you are doing here so I suspect the Mods are getting a bit interested now.

I guess if I wasn't any good at sculpting I'd be ignored

    Hey Phil,
Looks like you've got a good start here. Over the years I've posted a lot of sculpts and have received praise and criticism, just like you. The praise is great! The criticism, not so much, but I've learned that all criticism, constructive or otherwise, has value. I've honed my craft by time, effort and considering the criticisms offered. I look at what someone says and consider it. If I agree with them, I work on changing what was mentioned. If I don't agree, I ignore it. I try to remember that everyone has spent some time looking at my sculpture and taken the time to comment, and I appreciate that. And Guess what! Great minds think alike. I've been working on the same pose as you over the last few months!

Thanks for that advise Bob...I'll definately take that onboard... and I've always loved your work on the Batman stuff and nice to see someone else trying to be different from the rest rather than the same old borning expression. The Joker is supposed to be an expressive character which is why I chose this look.

Nice deflect! On your joker sculpt I think it has alot of promise. I like the fact he has an expression that suggests he is in the middle of saying something. Its a refreshing take on the subject. I would agree with previous comments of fine tuning Heath's likeness more before you start adding the joker elements and scaring.

As to your constant accusations and innuendos.........PM SENT!

Personally, that mouth expression is perfect. It looks like he's caught in the middle of the articulating the 'SSSSS' from the word 'facSSSSe'. I love it.

I really dig the overall sculpt, and I do see Heath's likeness in there....while fully appreciating that it's still a WIP that will only get stronger as you work on it.

I dig the pose, love the expression...agree with some of the suggestions posted but most of all....judging from your previous works I think this one will be just as amazing too.

    Keep it up bud.
