When does Dr Who return?

I have been searching the BBC site for 20 min.
I did a search here but the word dr and who were too common or short.

When did the first episode air? Being it's the 50th anniversary, they might want to time it with that. I did think there was an article somewhere that the real reason for the delay wasn't so much the olympics but to celebrate the 50 years.

Well, the 50th is NEXT season (late 2013).

If I remember correctly, 1st half of the season starting in November, then the Christmas episode, then the second half of the season Jan 2013.

Wait, so the Xmas episode won't "launch" the season this year? That's odd.

Gonna be weird, but I can see it working. If the Ponds were gonna be out the door after a few episodes regardless of when the Xmas special fell might as well use the special to introduce the new companion.

The Olympics end on August 12th, so late August is a definite possibility.

It's possible (there are certainly a lot of rumors going around to that effect), but everything we've been told so far (by either Moffet or the BBC) has said "Late 2012". Moffet mentioned that the season would be pretty contiguous, so that still leads me to November.

August would be great, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. My bet is they announce something at Comicon.

The BBC treats air dates much like nuclear secrets. The exact dates will only be known a week or so ahead for the sake of the Radio Times exclusivity. My guess is November or so.

I dont know when its back on. But i can tell you all that thay have been filming at the ruins at Neath Abbey

Dang. That's pretty early compared to the last few. Seems like in either '04 or '08 they didn't even start until september.
