    Feb 13, 2011 - Weather Appropriate Movies #1

Don't know if this topic had been done before, but i like to try and save movies for the right weather/time of year.

So snow is an easy one - The Thing, The Shining, Ice Station Zebra etc. Looking for suggestions for other seasons....Key Largo if there's a storm for instance, Inferno or The Hill for the summer. Also, does anyone else do this, or am i just OCD?

For some reason The Goonies always strikes me as a perfect rainy-day movie. Some of that is the Oregon shooting locations and the weather there, but I think it's also because I first saw it on a rainy day when I was 8.

I envy you. No opportunities for fun stuff like that in the bland California sun.

I never tried to chose movies by what the weather is outside, but I do like to drink whenever they are drinking in the movie. I think the reimagined Battlestar Galactica had alcohol in every episode. lol

Bad Santa is the best xmas movie ever, so I guess that could be my winter movie.

Yep, I do this. Either weather or holiday appropriate. So that also means a ton of horror movies in October, and a bunch of Christmas movies in December. Of course, for Groundhog day, we only have one movie.

C'mon now, we get rain here occasionally. On those days I like to watch the classic Universal horror films; Frankenstein and The Old Dark House come to mind.
