I just read that season 2 wont even air until Halloween next year.

That's a long wait between seasons. I don't want to loose my Zombie
    fix for that long. LOL.

Better than starting it early, airing the first 4 episodes, then making us wait 6 months for the rest!

Once upon a time, that's how shows used to run and frankly, I'd rather wait a year and get all the shows without interruption (more or less) than do this 'hiatus' crap.

    True,

I think they split them in half now just to rape everyone on DVD sales.

The same price as a full series for half of one. Lets call it 1.0, 1.5 bla bla.

    What a rip off.

6 episodes is hardly even half a season. I want to know how they expect viewers to remain interested for 10 months. I'm also curious as to how many episodes they expect the next season will be.

Another good one. I'm glad they put to bed why Merle used the hacksaw on himself. Shane really screwed up, the camp massacre was totaly on him. I wonder though, just how so many walkers showed up all of the sudden. I wonder if Merle led them to the camp to get alittle revenge for being left on the roof.

    Where is Merle, anyway?

That's my guess. He finds the truck, makes some noise to get the geeks to pile into the back, closes the doors & heads back to the camp. Get it close-ish, open the doors & sit back & laugh quietly/maniacally.

I know they've strayed a lot from the comic so far, but could it be that
    Spoiler:
the roof guy losing his hand is a homage to Rick losing his hand, so that Rick won't, later in the series? There was a lot of drama with the Rick hand loss, but I don't really care about roof guy.

re:merle losing his hand in regard to the comic book differences...
    Spoiler:
i was thinking that merle maybe could wind up being a bodyguard/henchman of the govenor....and maybe then its him being the one one taking ricks hand, making it more of revenge?

i was totally thinking that too.....and michael rooker said his character may pop up again sometime later....and have a hand in events

AMC is fairly new to producing an original series (their first venture being Mad Men) and they had no way of knowing whether or not the show would be well received, so I'm sure producing only six episodes was their way of erring on the side of caution; after all, these shows ain't cheap.

As for making viewers wait so long between seasons, they're not the first--HBO did this with Six Feet Under and SyFy (Sci-Fi) did it with the new Battlestar Galactica. With the expensive and time-consuming zombie makeups and CG effects, I'd rather they take their time to do it right than rush to produce a lesser-quality show.

For the zombies all appearing at once, it may have been Glenn's fault as he pulled into camp with the alarm blaring. They hear something and they go to it. They may have been following him all the way there, just very slowly.

I had been wondering about the camp having so many people. Now they cleared out a bunch.

I wouldn't think Merle would have lead the zombies to the camp, as was said, for all he knew his brother was there. And it was only a few people from that camp he could possibly blame, causing the destruction and death of EVERYONE in the camp...that's a pretty heavy thing for anyone to do. And I doubt he could have lead any zombies into the back of the truck to "deploy" unto the camp, as the truck wasn't divided. There was a hole between the cab and the cargo area.

I suggest it was because of their camp fire. Remember that one guy boasted that he made the wall around the camp fire taller so they could make the fire bigger?

Maybe that didn't work as well as he planned.

Finally got to watch it last night. Really enjoyed the episode. I was just saying to my wife that it was odd they were 4 episodes in and no survivors had been killed by zomibes yet. Then the camp gets rocked. I was actually cheering haha.

Rick, Glenn, and Michonne go into the town of Woodbury and meet the govenor and his men. The govenor is a crazy sadist and tells them that the national guard abandoned their post that is why they have guns, etc...The govenor takes them to an arena where they see zombies chained by the neck and explains how they have gladiator fights there. Right after that they grab Rick and start interogating him asking where the rest of his camp is. When Rick says its just them, the govenor chops off his hand because he thinks he's lying. Thats when Michonne lunges at the govenor and bites off his ear.

Saw this on topless robot and thought it was pretty good, im gonna warn everyone that it contains spoilers regarding the comics. The story was called

"15 Walking Dead Moments We Can't Believe We'll See on TV"

    +++Last chance for spoilers warning+++

    Spoiler:

    15. Carl kills Shane

We're guessing this moment where Rick's son Carl shoots the now-crazy Shane in the neck will end the first season, but we'll still be surprised if AMC shows a child shooting a man in the neck.

    14. Naked Suicide Pact

Tyreese's daughter Julie and her boyfriend Chris had been acting strange before the group finally settled in at the prison. We thought it was just because they wanted to have sex, and that was part of it, but in reality, they intended to shoot each other at the same time post-coitus. Chris screws up and shoots Julie early. Hearing the shots, Tyreese runs in, holds his dead daughter who soon turns into a zombie herself. After Chris shoots her, Ty chokes Chris to death. Between the themes of teen suicide and kid murder, we'd be surprised if this scene went down like this on the show.

    13. Decapitated Kids

When Rick and his crew got to the prison, four inmates had been trapped in the cafeteria. As it turned out, one of them was a psycho killer who killed farmer Hershel's two youngest daughters by chopping their heads off. We didn't know who did it when we first saw the girls' bodies--and heads-- but it soon became apparent that Thomas, the nerdy guy with glasses, was the killer. Rick later pummels him almost to death

    12.The Governor Chops Rick

We saw Rick hacking the hell out of a zombie in the second episode of the series, but we're not sure if AMC will go the same route when it comes to Walking Dead's biggest bad (so far) The Governor who turned out to be a real sadistic son of a ***** and chopped Rick's right hand off after taking him prisoner.

    11. The Governor Assaults Michonne

As if cutting the hand off of our hero wasn't bad enough, The Governor proceeded to rape and beat the tied-up Michonne. Actually, we don't need to see any of this on screen as Kirkman created one of the more disturbing subplots in all of comics.

    10. The Governor's Television

Hey, the Governor's a really vile character. In addition to chopping hands and torturing women he also keeps a fleet of fish tanks filled with water and zombie heads that he watches for relaxation every night. By comparison this actually seems relatively normal. Oh, he also has his zombie daughter chained up in his place which he feeds fresh human parts.

    9. Michonne's Revenge

The Governor finally gets what's coming to him after Rick frees Michonne. She immediately goes to get her revenge which involves tying the Governor up naked, nailing his penis to a board, scooping an eyeball out with a spoon and...well, lots of other gross stuff. The scene is both cathartic and stomach churning, but we would be shocked if any of this made it on the small screen.

    8. Rick's Hit and Run

After realizing that Martinez was on his way back to the Governor to tell him about the prison, Rick runs him down with the RV and chokes him to death. Martinez was neither the first nor last human Rick killed in order to keep his family and friends safe. Can a TV audience handle this kind of evolution (or devolution) in a character? Can Andrew Lincoln pull off the slow decline into madness that characterizes Rick Grimes throughout the series? We'll see.

    7. Carol Finds A New Friend

One of the more troubled survivors, Carol lost her husband, saw her boyfriend Tyreese cheating on her with Michonne and got rejected by Rick and Lori when she suggested she marry the pair of them. She couldn't deal with everything, so she killed herself by essentially offering her flesh up to a zombie they had tied up for experimentation saying "You DO like me" before dying. We haven't seen a zombie get ahold of a person yet on the show, so we're not sure how they'll handle a moment like this on the show, but seeing something like this on screen would be both horrific and daring.

    6. The Governor's Daughter

After healing from the wounds inflicted by Michonne, the Governor forms a plan to attack the prison, but before that, he yanks the teeth out of his zombie daughter's mouth and then gives her an open mouth kiss. Okay, this is another one we probably don't need to see on TV

    5. Tyreese's Decapitation

Ty and Michonne tried to get the drop on the Governor's people after their initial attack on the prison, but Tyreese got captured. In an attempt to use their friend's life to get into the prison, the Governor threatens to kill him. Rick makes the call not to let them in and the Governor hacks and hacks at Tyreese's neck until he's dead while everyone watches.

    4. Lori and Judy Get Shot

The Governor looses it and drives a tank right through the prison gets letting both his remaining people and a load of zombies inside. Rick's trying to get his family--son Carl, wife Lori and newborn daughter Judy--to safety, but, while running away, Lori and the baby get eviscerated by bullets. This scene changed the game of Walking Dead, showing that no one was safe. If Darabont keeps that same attitude for the show, we'll be impressed, but we also know that TV audiences get awfully attached to characters and no one wants to see a woman and baby shot to death.

    3. Rick's Rampage

While on a mission to get more guns and visit another survivor, Rick, new compatriot Abraham and Carl get attacked by a trio of rednecks who threaten to kill them and rape Carl while Rick watches. They didn't know who they were messing with as Rick bites one of them in the neck and stabs another one repeatedly while Carl watched and Abraham shoots the third.

    2. Ben Kills Billy, Carl Kills Ben

Two of the more ignored characters in the book, twins Billy and Ben saw both their parents die by zombie attacks. After playing with a dead cat, Ben decided to stab his brother to death because, in his mind, Billy would come back to life. The adults talked about killing Ben because he was a danger to everyone, but it was Carl who crawled into Ben's makeshift prison and shot him to death. Kids killing kids killing kids is pretty damn intense and probably not something to be shown on television or absorbed well by audiences.

    1. Killing Cannibals

A group of survivors who had turned to cannibalism run afoul of Rick and his group after kidnapping Dale and eating his good leg. Rick, Abraham, Michonne and Andrea track them down, ask them to stop and when they say "no," our "heroes" take their time in killing these people slowly. In a rare turn, Kirkman doesn't show the violence, instead showing the aftermath, but the deed has been done. Expect the more violent scenes from the comic to be done like this on the show, if they're handled at all.

Those are some incredibly large spoilers NOT hidden behind spoiler tags. It also probably violates Piracy laws... granted you're not posting the whole book, but there are definitly some issues there.

Easy killer,....I warned numerous times about spoilers, and left a gap before the text. In fact I even added '+' to make the word spoiler stand out more, then added 5 line breaks. Not to mention the title of the thread says "with potential spoilers". If you cant figure out a spoiler is below then I dunno what to tell ya. I also posted that I copied it from topless robot, heres the source link: Topless Robot - 15 Walking Dead Moments We Can't Believe We'll See on TV

As for piracy laws, Im sure Topless Robot which is a high volume site would have received a Cease & Desist and the links to the pics would be invalid, since I didnt upload the pics here. Plus Im pretty sure Topless Robot got all their pics from The Walking Dead Wiki http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/The_Walking_Dead_Wiki but they didnt give them credit, although I did. Also if you are that worried about copyright laws, then perhaps this forum isnt the best for you, since people replicate props for sale but label them as "runs". Or perhaps hop in the Captain America thread and fire off a warning since scanned pages of EW were posted. Im sure you are just trying to help so thank you

I know it's harsh...but think about his character. He would probaly rationalize that he could find his brother in time or that his brother can fend for himself well enough. I could easily picture Merle, allowing some walkers to follow him while hegot in the box truck. Just seems unlikely that only one walker in a very long time showing up to camp, then boom a frenzy of them.

With Rick and the others getting back to camp before Merle, by foot, I think Merle had something to do with the attack. By intention or not.

Then link to the site or post the images behind spoiler tags - not so hard.

After reading a few opinions about piracy (most notably Colleen Doran's posting last week) and the comic book industry and having personal first hand experience on the music end of it, it's a touchy subject.

You can try to justify it. But, I still think you're wrong by posting the images when you could have just posted a link... especially seeing that you're leeching the source site's bandwidth.

I am literate, I understand the term spoiler and accept that there will be spoilers on the site. I've read the Walking Dead (in trade paperback), you're not really spoiling me. But, I am aware of the fact that not everyone here wants very large images of spoilers blasted right in front of their eyes rather than the discussion that's been going. It's easy to zip past text, not so much images that could be taking up most of one's computer screen. Plus, you'll notice a lot of the discussion has taken place behind spoiler tags. They're not that hard to use... perhaps you should become more familiar with how this site functions?

Lastly, the name is not "killer," I've coming to this site regardless of copyrights for 10 years - so don't tell me what forums I should belong to.

Man, there was some stupid **** in that episode!

They build up the tension with the very effective 'tracking Merle' stuff, then blow it all to hell with the ludicrous 'saintly gang-bangers' subplot - what the hell was the point of that?

They did the whole 'family values' stuff' way better in the seige sequence in DOTD, without the outrageous cheesiness of the 'twist' here, which was utterley unbelievable and superflous in such a short season.

Then they lose their van and decided to run back??

What happened to Glenn (the stealthy guy who drives all the way back to camp with a car alarm blaring...) having mean hot-wiring skills?

And good god, what the hell was with the the hideous clunky opening dialogue on the boat that just went on forevvvvvvvver?

Added to Jim's uncanny pyschic powers and dead folk who don't re-animate (next week? Missed the moment, guys...) and that was a major clunker.

It's amazing how many times this show seems to be able to switch from awesome to awful and back in the space of a single episode. Daryl is greatness, though.

Get up, Amy, you know you want to....
