The Walking Dead Season 5 Discussion (Spoilers)

It changes the entire dynamic of the story because it would mean that a cure exists. At this point we don't know about any form of cure. Imo, any good zombie film keeps cures out of the formula.

Even if a cure exists, there'd be no point to it now. Everything to be able to use to synthesize a cure, as well as distribute it, is pretty much gone in the world. There'd be no way to create the cure and distribute it. So, again, if a cure existed, due to the damage already done, there'd be no point in it now. The number of the dead still outweigh the living. Even if there was a cure, there'd be no point for it now. In the early timeframe of the outbreak, maybe. Now... No point in it.

...other than saving mankind! Duh. ;) I think the plan Eugene made up was to put it on a missile. Conceivably some of our nuclear missile silos could still be holding out.

Yeah, a cure to keep people from turning into Walkers, which is pointless because of the massive amount of the dead outnumbering the living. Again, what'd be the point of it when there's too many dead people? Clearly Walkers circulation system no longer works, because we've seen Walkers who have limbs that have been lost a long time ago, which would have resulted in a lot of blood loss a long time ago. So, if there is a cure, again, there's no way it would be able to be made and there's no point in it now. A cure is useless at this point, even for those who are still alive.

And even if they did stop the Walkers, humans are still the most dangerous next to the Walkers. So, there'd be no point anyway.

pretty decent episode tonight until we see the hospital people again. Cant exactly put my finger on it but the hospital is just off all around production wise. Not sure if its the acting, lighting, dialog, characters... but everything about the hospital is terrible. As a whole this season has lost my interest with the death blow being the Beth side story. Its so bad I had no plans to watch tonight but just happened to flip on the tv at 9pm, again, decent episode tonight. Was an interesting observation when Darrel called it, Shane was ahead of the curve and now everyone is where Shane's mind was at the start, even Rick.

Meh, it was O.K. I do like how they are picking each character and showing what they have done over the last few weeks/moths since the prison/Terminus etc. Now we know what happened to Beth, now we know where Carol went, now we know about Noah, it's all leading up to getting Beth, and now Carol, out of the hospital. We still need these story arcs to catch up to Ricks at the church.

2 Episodes left before the midseason finale. Any speculation on what our midseason cliffhanger will be? Carol dies? Beth dies? DARYL DIES?!?!

Personally, I hope they kill Daryl in some heroic way. Until they kill him off I would consider this show to be powerless against it's fan base. He has become so amazingly awesome, and is written as such a perfect and loveable character... he has no place left in a drama. He either needs to die or commit some repulsive act to break his character a little bit. Personally, I hope he goes out as a hero. I love Daryl (like every other human being on the face of the earth) so I hope they do him justice, but I do want to see him gone. It would also stick it to the "If Daryl dies we riot crowd". He's just too likeable.

I don't think Daryl will die. But I agree, his character needs more internal conflict. I liked the look and feel of the episode last night. Nice to see more of the ravaged city. Carol and Daryl make a great team. Rescuing Beth, ok yeah that's good, but we as an audience need something bigger, something more on the global scale. They need to introduce some more big picture elements relating to the fate of the world as a whole.

That's a good point, I've never thought of that before. It's been since the CDC that we've gotten a feel for anything going on outside of the main character group.

Not too shabby of an episode I would say. Carol and Daryl made a good recon / tag team. Loved how he got the truck to load up the rest of the church group at the end. Carol saved all their butts, so it's time to repay the favor.

I don't think Daryl is gonna die nor will Carol this season. When they play the WD AMC commercial during the show with the U2 song. They show cast members looking bad ass as they are ready to fight. But some members are not shown in the commercial. Who's missing? Well I'll tell ya... Abe, Mullett, Tara, Rostia, father Gabe and Beth. Oh no's..Not Beth.

So put me down for Beth mid season cliff hanger. The DC squad killed off in the final. Maggie and the Chinese kid...he's Korean. what ever! Ha those two make it out alive or captured

I think that Darryl with infiltrate the hospital, take down the bad people running it, secure the building, fly off to another country to get his Masters Degree in Medicine using a helicopter he was able to repair with a pulley off his crossbow, become a Doctor, and fly back to Atlanta where Rick and the group will be waiting medical care. BAM. Mid-season finale.

This post hurt me.

THIS is the kind of episode I've been wanting. Some genuine suspense. They're not in the damn woods. Some inventive moments (LOVE the van sequence). And above all, they're not standing around pontificating endlessly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank god. D and C do more with a glance than all the other characters' endless diatribes put together. Sure, some of their dialog is clunky and heavy-handed, but when it's right it's right: moments like the two of them talking about the painting are so so so so so much better than "we ain't ashes yet." TWD needs to give us more character development and less "talking head stating plot/theme/nonsense." D quietly burning the bodies was great. TWD would usually follow that with a 20 minute speech about the nature of humanity and emotional scars or some tedious, sophomoric crap, but this episode didn't need to. We know why D did it for her, and we know why C appreciates it. Doesn't need to be spoon fed to us. God I hope we get more like this.

I recently finished catching up on the show because I just had the pleasure of working on it. It was a great experience and a lot of fun. Sadly, I'm not permitted to discuss details beyond that but I am enjoying this thread. I will say, as a prop enthusiast, that I had a ball trying all of the casts weapons.

Fact, when Chuck Norris finally died after taking down 1,000,000 Non-Texas Ranger Walkers, the cosmos brought in Darryl Dixon to fill the gap.

Going back a few posts, a vaccine that would prevent you from becoming a walker is key to the over-all survival of humanity. Right now it doesn't matter how secure you are, as seen in the prison, one person dies of natural causes or disease, BOOM you have a walker loose within your perimeter, and let's face it, human beings aren't designed to run at peak alertness etc. all the time.

Considering what's coming to pay the hospital a visit next week...I pity da fools.

Can you at least say if it was as cast or production staff?
