The Walking Dead Season 4

Wow, that was a rough one. Episode was very well executed, & Melissa was INCREDIBLE. As soon as Tyreese & Carol rolled up there to see Lizzy with the bloody knife, standing over the body of Mika, I was like "OHHHH SHHHIIIIIIII...", & then when she said "Oh, she'll be all right, I didn't hurt her brain. She'll change, you'll see. Judith can change too, I was just about to...", I turned to my wife & said: There is no way they can allow that kid to live. Not even one more day.

Having the idea to take the story that direction showed a lot of gusto, imo, And having the bollocks to see it through was brilliant.

WOW. :( / :cool

I knew when psycho girl said, "I know what I have to do now." it was over for her sis. I told my wife they didn't specify what it was she had to do.

I wanted Carol to pop her right there at the scene of the crime. No waffling, no crying. That's what I would have done. (At least, I hope I would have.)

But the difference between you and Carol is that you don't have any emotional connection to them. You didn't spend months with those girls prior to the prison assault. There's a difference between killing someone you don't know very well and killing someone you do know very well. Let me put it to you like this: It's easier to kill a complete stranger than it is to kill your own family member or a friend you've known since childhood.

I'm not sure I agree. You are much more likely to go off on your family members, who know how to push your buttons, than you are on a complete stranger. Not saying there wouldn't be psychological repercussions later...

OMFG!!! THAT was so INTENSE I know, that word has been overused but in this episode it's more than appropiate! The writers have balls of steel, kudos! Man, I knew it won't end well for Psycho-Girl, but I'd never imagined that she'd kill her sister first, who the more stable of them two…

And the confession to Tyreese, I think, after that incident, he realized, that some things had to be done, even if it's not what he like or want. So, he could forgive Carol - a very good way to forgive her, I was constantly thinking, how he would react, if she ever confessed and how it would be handled in the series. That was well written.

Melissa really deserves an award for best acting here!

Now that was a great episode! I can only imagine the last two will be just as dramatic! Faith renewed in the show!!!!!

Old Yeller!

Great episode. Carol is one of the best things about this series. I know Daryl gets all the fan love, but she's just as awesome imo.

I'll never look at flowers the same way

look at the flowers Lizzie...

Had to do it since Lizzie was way beyond messed up. Feel sorry for Carol cause they were like her own daughters in a way

She was on the Talking Dead discussing her confession. They talked how things might have been different had Carol confessed earlier in the episode when her and Tyrese were out alone and Tyrese was behind her holding the gun. She felt like her character might have almost confessed then but held back. She speculated how his reaction would probably would have had a totally different reaction and he probably would have shot her on the spot. Later in the episode though after seeing what Carol had to do and how much it affected her, his reaction was forgiveness

Echoing what everyone else said. It'd be weird to call it a great episode, but very well done regardless.

Spoiler for how it went down in the comics...

They're twin brothers instead of girls. His line about "not hurting the brain" is almost word for word the same. They secure the psycho twin, and in the middle of the night Carl sneaks in and takes care of the problem without anyone seeing him. 'Cause that's how Carl rolls.

Yeah that was messed up. I watched the Talking Dead and those little girls come across as way older and wiser than they really are!

I hope next episode is Daryl killing all those guys. I'd have to kill that guy after his comment suggesting they were raping little girls.

I'm about 3 episodes behind, but I've heard that one of the girls dies or something. My reaction is.... nothing. We never really had the time or reason to become attached to those little girls. They've so far seemed like little more than potential zombie fodder to me; nowhere near as valued as Sophia was, or even T-dog, whose sudden death was awkward at best. Unless something truly incredible has happened with those girls in the last 3 episodes I haven't seen.

It was a very well played out and acted episode, and I would say watch it before saying you don't care for it? And I agree the two girls acted it very very well indeed.

I knew she was going to at least try to kill someone when she said that. Actually, I should have figured it out when she said she could hear the zombies. That was coming close to "my dog told me to kill them all."

Sent from my Etch A Sketch.

Yeah, they didn't give too much development to them, but I think the most powerful emotional impact of the episode wasn't because we have become attached to those girls as characters, it's really about Carol.

She worked to make them survivors. She lost Sophia and in a way Mika became her surrogate. This was perhaps her second chance at protecting an innocent child

Carol tried to prepare Mika to be able to handle herself unlike Sophia.

Mika's death brought all those emotions back for her as she realizes she failed again.

Now it is like she has lost Sophia again and is also faced with having to kill a child she tried to nurture in order to do "what needs to be done".
