Y e a h. I did a search, and now know it is indeed possible to make a silencer using a mag light. Of course, I am probaly on a watch list now.
It was for research purposes for a possible zombie invasion. Honest. Haven't you heard what's been happening in Florida Mr. Homeland Security?!
The other thing is that even if if he came across a silencer, he can't use it. I don't know about American police but I highly doubt they're service weapons are threaded to accept a silencer. There's no way to secure it, even duct taping it without takin the chance that it would go off center and then you have the bullet destroying the gun.
As long as someone has a working knowledge of how a suppressor works, a mag ligh fits perfectly over the scary end of the pistol and with the right items, you have a redneck suppressor.
I know, it looks like he's using a Glock. It's still technically a service weapon as he took it from the station.

My Ruger P22 came w/ a factory thread barrel. The Ruger 22/45 also comes threaded as well as a number of other guns. Nothing rare about it.
