Have you been watching the show? They most definately are sneaky and fast. Dale knows this now, and so does Rick. Seriously, how did that zombie get the jump on Dale in the first place, the zombie popped up in the direction he just came from, and it wasn't like you WOULDN'T notice it. Or Rick, how did the Shane zombie NOT get noticed by him, haha! I'd have to say that it kinda proves they are sneaky and fast.![]()
If Carl ever gets turned he will be the zombie god. He's already got sneaky down pat.
I don't understand all this complaining about Hershel's ammo count. If anyone bothered to watch the episode, when Lori and Carol are yelling at each other on the porch, in the foreground you can clearly see a slightly out of focus Hershel RELOADING. Again, when Rick saves his ass, he's RELOADING. Are they suppose to cut to a tight shot of him every time he reloads so people desperate for things to complain about don't say "gee how come his shotgun has infinite ammo....."
He was wearing skinny pants, where was his bandolier of shotgun shells?!
Unless he was carrying ammo prison style.
But I digest.
Well, 5+1 shells in his shotgun, add another maybe 5 shells per pocket? Not to mention maybe he has shells in his shirt pocket?
Hershal just needs Snakes bandana, that will answer the ammo problem once and for all!
It's kind of a double-edged sword.
Watching Hershel blowing away zombies on a Sunday night cable TV is cool.
Watching Hershel re-load a shotgun is not.
BUT - the drama and tension of reloading a shotgun while FRIGGIN ZOMBIES THAT WANT TO EAT YOU ARE COMING AT YOU is very exciting to watch.
Pick one?
They did both.
Its a good thing too that all the world's best marksmen magically met each other in the zombie apocalypse. I've never seen so many people who could hit so many moving targets with a headshot, every time, from a moving vehicle in a field... AT NIGHT.
Now, I get the whole "it's a TV show - its not real - it would be boring to watch people take shot after shot and not hit anything"... I get that. But the zombie thing has been done so many times. People have higher expectations now and "realism" is the best way to suck an audience in to an unrealistic scenario. I would like to see a little creativity and not just the same thing I've seen in every other zombie story...
Yeah, it'd be nice if they showed their shots going wild every so often. Rick I can believe hitting his target every time, Shane too, Andrea is a natural sniper in the comics so I can believe that, but everyone hitting the head every time? Just a little too much for me.
My wish list for season 3:
Kill Carl
Kill Lori
Use different sound effects for the zombie stabbings/whacking/head crushing/limbs coming off/etc.
Walkers have no fear, nor sense of pain. The shock and pain of flame throwers, and inhaling fire into lungs, kills people pretty quick. None of that would affect the walkers, however, and they'd keep moving for some time after being turned into roman candles. Do you really think having a walking roman candle who can spread fire outside the areas you want it contained to is a good idea?
Not trying to hurt them with shock and pain. No no. Want to incinerate them. They are dehydrated, rotting beasts. And the freshly dead ones would have no chance of reanimation if they are burnt.
And how about a Combine? I'd imagine a row of Combines sweeping up Atlanta Snow Plow style would take care of things pretty quick.
My point is there are many tools that could be far more effective than a pistol or a shot gun.
