I'm a huge fan of RD but in my mind, it ended at the end of S6. After that is became pretty thin. S7 was poor, S8 was ok in places and that recent effort was......eh.......crap!

Leave it be. RD has had its day in my opinion.

I agree with 90% of your statement; season 7 and 8 where pants. "Season" 9, well, it was just an expensive advert for Dave (what a ridiculous name for a TV channel?!?).

I'm glad they are producing some new stuff, I hope they write a proper ending. Perhaps something based on the books?

god no. RD died a long time ago. roughly around season 4 with a declining laugh rate after that and the latest effort with them returning to earth was god awful.

RD was at its best when it stuck what it did best, sit com in space. the bigger the budgets got, the flatter the humour went

Will watch this mainly for nostalgia. I used to love this show back in the day. Hopefully it'll be good.

i havent seen red dwarf since the 90s. that show was the best show to come out of england.

Season 7 I think, had my favorite episode, Tikka to ride. I am a sucker for conspiracies.

Wow, I don't even remember what the last RDs were that I saw. The ship had been regenerated by the nanites and the ship was going to blow up and it said "the end?" or something.
I heard they had started again with no live audience but that it didn;t get far.
I really loved this show, I hope it comes back and I can catch up on what has already been done that I missed!
Anyone know if the American pilot is available anywhere? I worked on it and have never seen it.

Wow, I just remembered i have a "Baby" scutter in my garage too, somewhere...

I have a copy of the American Pilot somewhere. I'll have a look.

They did 3 episodes a year or so ago, called Back to Earth.

I just wish the BBC would stop producing all this reality trash and go back to producing some quality shows like Black Adder, Red Dwarf, Allo' Allo', Only Fools and Horses etc. I used to love Friday nights when there was a whole load of great stuff to watch!

I agree it was one of the best, but you should check out some of the above shows I mentioned too, the late 70s to early 90s was the peak of British comedy.

I miss that show so much. One of the shows I grew up on. It always seemed to be on during my childhood. I was so sad when it finished. I'd love it when they'd do a special episode every once in a while. Great show.

I loved Nicholas Lindhurst in Goodnight Sweetheart too. That was another cracker of a show.

I have all of the Only Fools and Horses series, I just need the specials. There was a Prequel a year ago that had Rodney playing his father.

Good stuff.
