Aw too much honor for me Rebel; I am just a Tron fan like you, I don't set standards, only reviews

Anyway, an interesting character development for Paige, which then doesn't come off as the stereotypical villain, but a villain with a cause. She was betrayed by Tesseler, who fooled her with the "ISO" problem, that goes much higher up to the food chain (CLU's order). My guess is, that surely won't be the last time we see Quorra! What I would also like to see? Jeff Bridges reprising his role as CLU or Flynn in hiding!

Due to the fact that this thread started out as a link being shared for a preview of TRON: Uprising and has turned into a thread discussing TRON: Uprising as a whole series, I've updated the title of the thread.

" Isolated "' ( love the pun in it ) was a great episode, one of my fav so far. I love how neutral characters are set against each other and turned to hate others by events or bad luck, and not only because of the stereotical good /bad guy. Yep, Tron and Tessler are definitively good and bad characters, but they remain in the background; Zed, Beck, Paige are the core show and it is exciting to see what choices they will do.
Really crossing my fingers for more goodness in the upcoming eps.

" I'll never betray you, Paige. " -> Ha ha.

Guess I am a little confused about the timeline. This is between the two movies, not after the 2nd movie. I thought that when CLU took over, Tron saved Flynn so that he could escape, in doing so CLU captured TRON and had him re-purposed. Is this not when Tron gets re-purposed? Does he get away from CLU at this time, which is why everyone thinks Tron is dead?

With the TV series, I've interpreted it as Tron distracting Clu so Flynn could get away. Then Clu defeated Tron and "left him for dead" - NOT repurposing him, this explains why Tron is still Tron in Uprising and not Rinzler.

I feel/fear we might get to see how Tron becomes Rinzler closer towrds the series finale (guessing)

I'm sure they RetConned it to get Tron in there somehow. It's nice to see Tron in a show called Tron.

I thought Isolated was a little weak. A 'filler' episode. They depended too much on Quoras appearance.

I liked the episode a lot due to the background info about Paige, but I did feel like they shoe-horned Quorra in there.

I wasn't sure what to make of Quorra's comrade. Was that supposed to be a transvestite program? Reminded me of a Rocky Horror caricature.

I guess every program has some weird hairdo in the grid, except for Tron and Clu. You could see that in the movie and BTS pics, as well as in the old movie, there were some really weird progs there looking like a transistor, remember?

I really enjoy that the orignal guards are in this series. Always like the look you can't see their face, makes them more evil.

Quorra is the core character that links together all the components of the franchise. I wouldn't be surprised if we get to see her again, later on. Maybe an appearance of Anon ?

Yup, the hairdoes are a bit strange sometimes, but that's the style of the series I guess. I also like the fact that the circuitry are not always unicolor; Mara is white and yellow, Tesler is even red, white and green... Love all the ideas that are poured into the series.

Naw, TRON has some weird hair too! Good thing he got his helmet hair corrected for Legacy.

I've really enjoyed the series so far. I'm really happy that they began showing Tron: Uprising on the regular Disney Channel on Friday nights, as well. Since I don't have X D I was having to rely on online viewings. This show deserves to be seen in as many avenues as possible!

    That is hair-larious. The hair-gel 80's.

I guess Tron was suffering from static electricity.

Cindy Morgan was so pretty. Strange that she only got a few movies.

"Prince of Power" is a pretty interesting episode in terms of real world computing. Shaw, the scientist program develops a super-weapon that looks like disc shaped processor, that gives the program more power, strength and agility. When I saw what it could do, I instantly thought of: "That might the equivalent of a RISC processor."

wikipedia has more info on it, but basically all smartphones out there are equipped with RISC processor and they have been in existance since the 80's, dating even early as in the 60's!
Interesting thing is, it does reference also to a Ph.D. Michael J. Flynn… coincidence?

Greeting Programs! There was an Uprising panel at the San Deigo Comic Con yesterday, which I attended. The hall for the panel was a pretty decent size and managed to fill completely. Good to see the support for this show.

On the panel was Elijah Wood, Bruce Boxleitner and Tricia Helfer, along with series director Charlie Bean, consulting producers (and Legacy writing team) Adam Horowitz, Edward Kitsis, and animation designers Alberto Mielgo and Robert Valley.

They started off with some clips from their new Motor City series, then dove into panel attendee introductions.

    Some highlights:

    - It's very obvious all these guys have a strong passion for Uprising, and are determined to create a deep mythology for Tron. They consider Uprising an official part of that history.

    - The two Legacy writers noted they were hard at work on a sequel to Legacy.

    - Tricia Helfer was happy to demonstrate some lines from the show in her cheerful/chilling voice. She hadn't watched the original before signing on to the cast and asked what Tron fans called themselves. She suggested "Tronnies" (I think it was Boxleitner who made a "Trannies" joke here). Elijah Wood said he had heard someone in the audience use "Programs" instead, which got a big applause.

    - They played a clip of some upcoming episodes and promised we'd get some backstory on how it was that Tron turns into Rinzler. I believe we'll be seeing how he got his scar as well.

    - During the Q&A portion someone asked about getting a soundtrack. The director acknowledged that the composer was doing a fantastic job and he hoped we'd eventually get a soundtrack. Said they'd finish up the first season before anything like that happened, however.

Everyone in the audience was given raffle tickets - at the end of the panel each person on stage drew a number from a bowl and handed the winners a heavily autographed identity disc. There was also a final drawing for the gigantic Uprising poster that was used as a backdrop for the stage. They had a really good time drawing names. Elijah suggested all panels should have a raffle and that when they were done with the identity discs they'd done another round and raffle themselves off (big applause).

Boxleitner drew a ticket that had no winner and loudly announce "I drew a blank? Really? But I'm TRON!" (stood up and struck a heroic pose). Hilarious. His second attempt also had no winner ("I'm shooting blanks!").

Disney XD has posted up a short very video of the event here: Disneyabcvideo.com

Love the RISC DISC Weapon! i'm inspired to make one. Wish I could have made it down to SDCC this year. I definitely would have been in attendance at the Uprising panel.

Unfortunately, the audience ratings are not very good... Maybe it's because people are watching it online ? :/

Anyway, that's the Internet : It's full of people who hate something.
