They released them on VHS, but never on DVD. Anyone know why?

Good question. I'd love to revisit those. Loved the music by Stu Phillips. And that Spidey suit was the best.
There was a live action Spiderman series?
oh Nicholas Hammond in the spidey suit
Darth-- it was form 1978 and not that great
message coming!
Yes, late 70's.

Cheesy, but lovable.

I've been wondering why it's not on DVD for years...Wonderwoman gets released, the George Reeves Superman, but no live action Spiderman. I love that suit.
LOL... that looks terrible. Even Stan Lee said he didn't like it and they were paying him.
And now it's my turn to remind everyone of the far superior JAPANESE spiderman series of the late 70's. This Spiderman would kill Hammond and break Toby Mcquire in half like a bread stick. if you've never seen this - get ready to have your socks blown right off-

What is up with the robot?
It's Japanese... everything that's Japanese has robots in it.
Ever see Turkish Spiderman?

I've seen poor quality VHS tapes at conventions, but I'd love to find some good copies somewhere on DVD or digital media.
Man I used to love that show as a kid! I was 7 or 8 years old when it first ran!

This would come on TBS (I think) back in the mid to late 80's when I was growing up. For some reason it would get heavy rotation at Thanksgiving time. I didn't mind one bit. The porno bass riffs were the best. :P
The only reason I stuck around to watch was as others mentioned,...the suit. Those eyes and outer worn gear was wonky and lovable. And the recycling of footage whenever possible was too funny. The rope webbing in-reverse was laughably the worst effect to date.![]()
I was thinking about this just a couple of weeks ago. It's very lame that they haven't released these... Heck, I just read that 1990's Captain America film was going to be released on bluray. If they can release that, certainly they should release the 70's Spider-Man. I've been feeling nostalgic for that show...
Man, I loved this show when I was a kid.
Used to crawl across the floor with spoons tied to my wrists as webshooters.
You can get it here:

Sorry, man. That site looks shady and suspect as hell. I'm willing to bet it's NOT DVD quality. Just ripped and burnt to disc from $2 worth of plastic to $35 to the geeks. Good profit though. I'll wait until an official release comes out.
It was cheesy and what would be considered in today's standards as Super Campy, but then again, so were the earlier CBS Saturday Morning classics such as Shazam and ISIS. Now, thanks to all of it fans and followers, including myself, they are cult comic classics. Technology needed to start somewhere and it's what paived the way for future Saturday morning cartoons and 4 silver screen movie hits. A great item and a MUST HAVE for any collecter!
Back in the middle of 90s USA had the show pieced together into a series of movies that they showed all Thanksgiving weekend. Come to think of it that was the same year the Beetles Anthology show was on too. It was better than i expected lol
