I agree. Although it seemed too soon to bring Rush back. They should've let him agonize a little more on that deserted planet, and actually reveal how he was "captured" by those skinny blue aliens. Great episode... keep em coming!
This show needs to be cancelled. So far it's extremely boring. Start over and the next time give us a Stargate show.
Better than most.
Loved the blue alien design.
Needs to get better.
It's season 2, not 1.5....
I like that it's different, though going to the scientists trying to wrest control from the military the day after the ship comes under attack doesn't seem too bright a move...
I'm glad the action picked up with "Space". It's growing on me.
Out of curiosity anyone know what brand 'sling backpacks' they've used so far? http://www.gateworld.net/gallery/dis...at=55&pos=9320
Considering how much Blackhawk gear they use, it's the 1st place I looked and it's not made by them. Can't find a match from Everest, Oakley, Nanu, etc either.
I hate how they're always in such a huge rush to get things back to normal after the cliffhangers. They should at least stretch things out an episode or two before bringing everything back together. Atlantis suffered from the same thing.
True, but Atlantis also suffered from sucking, horrendously
Did this week's episode ever explain how or where the alien got the communication stone or what the hiccup was? I thought the stones were paired - like stone A could only ever communicate with stone B. And if A is on Destiny and B is at Lou Diamond Philip's house, how does A suddenly connect to C, on the alien ship?
-Fred
No it never explained that part. My presumption was that whatever signal is sent to 'the other stone' to intiate the connection (remembed you don't have to remain attached to the stone) was intercepted by the alien on the ship somehow. Something in it's brain chemistry? Kind of like, if you know what you're doing, you can hack cell calls or wireless routers, etc. I got the impression they jumped into the same alien both times as well. Maybe a quirk in that guys brain? I dunno. They never explained that. Maybe they will down the road, who knows. Seemed they knew about the ship from the narrative, though. Unless the thing is retracing previous steps, it wouldn't seem too possible to follow it would it?
As far as wrapping it up too quick...eh...it bothers me more that they stick cliffhangers in at the end of seasons (or 1/2 seasons as the case may be - still wanna know when S2 likely will start) simply out of the cowardly reason that that's the only way to get people to come back for the next (part of the) season. If you've got a story that takes 2 hours to tell and it can't go anywhere but the last hour of season 1 and first part of season 2, great. However, that may have happened once or twice in the history of TV. The rest are flat gimmicks to retain viewers.
my wife is still pissed that in the first episode, Vanessa James is hooking up with Matthew Scott, and there is later awkwardness when they find themselves stuck aboard Destiny, and they pretend not to know each other but then suddenly without any explanation, Scott is hooking up with Chloe and James doesn't ever approach him to offer any protest at all.
Like THAT would happen. I know it's sci-fi, but that's really out there.
