Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Pre-release)

Re: Star Wars Standalone Film (Dir: Gareth Edwards)

when I think of spies I envision persons that have infiltrated and have taken on the roles of the enemy in order to obtain the information they need. I think Bounty Hunters would stand out... I would think you would have rebels or rebel sympathizers working their way up over time within the ranks of the empire and as imperial military brass to gain access or at least knowledge of where and how to retrieve the plans would be more likely IMO. Of course, these plans would then need to get into the hands of the rebellion so bounty hunters would have a nice role in this heist. Of course the danger and mystery is... did these rebel spies ever escape with their lives? :D

There's also a rumor of a Mace Windu movie. I think that would be cool, but I suspect people who hated the Prequels would have a fit.

Not if neither George nor Katie would be writing it. :p I think Matt Stover has a pretty good take on the character. Also depending on when it was set. I'm in the camp who believe he totally survived that fall. Anakin fell from lower down and was just fine. This is Coruscant. A Force-user has ample time while falling to figure out what to do and do it. I'd love to see him come out of seclusion when Luke does and the two of them get together to rebuild the Jedi. ;)

So you think Mace Windu might be pulling a Nick Fury?

Re: Star Wars Standalone Film (Dir: Gareth Edwards)

Wouldn't Mace be old as dirt if he came out of hiding the same time as Luke?

We really have no idea what the general life-expectancy of humans in the SWU is. With tens of thousands more years of technological evolution, I imagine they'd be easily up over a hundred years of prime vitality. He could be the new Yoda. ;)

Yeah, I must be some kind of nerd cause I looked that up a bit ago. It said 100-120y is standard but some Jedi Masters can push it to 200.

With as old as Mark Hamill is now , what would Mace be at that point 110-150?

Re: Star Wars Standalone Film (Dir: Gareth Edwards)

It's about 54 years after ROTS, so he's probably around the hundred mark, maybe less if he's spent time in some of those metabolism-slowing stasis meditations the EU gave us...

I'm skeptical about these spin-offs but I am curious to learn more about them!
