Seeing these concepts makes me think that Returns was a masterpiece

Returns is a masterpiece compared to these

I had a trapper-keeper just like that in grade school.

Yeah - that's the "rebirth" suit that formed around the corpse of the "dead" kal-el in the aborted Superman Lives - his body ends up at the Fortress of Solitude and the fortress cocoons him trying to convert him into data - the same way Jor El was converted into the green crystal - but Superman's memories of Earth - Ma and Pa, Lois, Jimmy, his duty against Luthor and the fact that Doomsday is still on the loose, keep Clark from succumbing to the transformation.

Yeah, isn't there actual footage of Cage in the suit or at least CGIed into the suit at one point?

This was also being floated around....what, '97 or so? Back when Kevin Smith was slated to direct? Which was, I believe, only a few years after the mullet/red/blue business. So it's not like the comic itself was in any great shape.

Smith was never going to direct it - he came in to do some rewriting. Despite his college tour stories his work on the script only dummied it up more than it already was. This suit stayed in the script all the way to the McGee draft (after Abrams) - and even Singer himself wanted a more Alien looking suit when he went into the movie - but ended up with the S logo being stamped on every inch of the costume - don't know which I hate more.

It's common knowledge now that back in the early to mid 90's Nic Cage was cast as Superman in a TIm Burton movie that ended up getting canceled. There's a photoshopped image of Cage in costume floating around out there that people think is the real deal, but no. I put it behind the spoiler tag instead of just posting the image because it happens to be gigantic, and while I can't speak for everyone, I know that always annoyed me.

Except for Cage's ugly noggin that is.
I mean, taking into account that this was from the early to mid 90's, and Batman looked just like that back then, yeah, the Superman costume isn't awful

That's pretty remarkable! Interesting to see the similar wrist details on the new MOS movie suit.
Still, this is probably one of the best skin tight muscle suits for superheroes...not covered in spandex or other materials...that I've ever seen. Wishing for more pics, and in color would be awesome!

Someone wanna tell Cage to give Keaton back his Batman suit?

Not being a spandex like material, that would be tough to wear under his everyday clothes! All this material for superman lives that is surfacing is very intriguing! It'd be cool to see the story as a comic or animated film just so we could get the jist of the whole thing!
