oh yeah...that's gonna be good..want those toys in the opening scene
CGi to make him younger?
I'm uber excited after seeing this and have more of an idea what the feel of the movie will be.
If that's the character I think it is, then I have zero issue with him looking computer generated and imperfect.
The movie looks really good. I can't wait to see it!
The problem is that he doesn't look digital. He looks 100% photorealistic. He doesn't move like a real person, and that's a deal-breaker. If they made him look artificial, then the stiff digital facial animation would work perfectly. It just doesn't work the way they've done it here. They're definitely going for full-bore "Jeff Bridges a la 1985", and not "artificial CGI character". That's evidenced by the realistic rendering and real-actor/motion-captured animation for the rest of his body. But they really blew it on the facial animation.
Maybe I'm looking at it too much from a VFX standpoint. Folks on the CGI boards I visit are practically up in arms about how crappy he's animated. I'm hoping this is just early footage that they rushed out for SDCC and not indicative of the final product.
and when it all comes down to it..it's just a movie guys
"There's no pleasing some people"--Brian
"That's just what Jesus said sir"--beggar
I hope you guys and gals at SDCC didn't have to wait long for this Son of Tron trailer, 'cause that wasn't the best.
I mean, c'mon... Bullet Time?
As I've said before, they should've used this power for good and made a sequel and/or prequel to The Last Picture Show and The Big Lebowski.
Well CTF, I'll be sure to not wave at you at the theatre. But yeah, bullet time is acceptable and still used even if you clearly have some kind of bias against it. As long as it's not used heavily and used at appropriate times, it's perfectly fine.
The fact is the CGI Jeff is absolutely photo realistic. It doesn't quite move 100% naturally but then again, show me anything like him that ever has. There's also months left to continue to refine it so I'm not all that worried about it myself. Even if it's never absolutely perfect it shows leaps and bounds beyond anything else ever done.
I missed you Nicky. Heard you were there. Damn it.
And he's right, it's gonna be great. For those who aren't already closed off to it.
Too bad for you guys.
Mike! I was looking out for you, man. Crazy con all over.
Man I hope that 8 minutes gets leaked!
