RIP Phyllis Thaxter

She delivered such warm and sincere portrayal of Ma Kent in Superman the Movie. My favorite scene (asie from her looking out the door across the field at Clark in the morning) was her and little Clark Kent (Aaron Smolinski) when they found him. When he hugs her out of the blue her look of affection and surprise is priceless. I asked Aaron about that and he said it wasn't scripted that way..he just really liked her so he hugged her.

Sad news

So sad. I didn't know she lived here in town. Would have loved to had met her.

Loved her in Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo.

RIP, Phyllis. Thank you.
