Wait...this is supposed to be set in Detroit's Belle Isle??? ! Yeah, RIGHT!
It has to be some other Belle Isle, I think. I agree...the Belle Isle in the Detroit River NEVER looked like that...not even in it's heyday. I don't think there were EVER houses or cottages on it; I think that it was always a public park with a zoo and aquarium and picnic tables, etc.

The mountains are gone now too.

I remember being there as a kid with my family (a long time ago), and during that time frame a lot of idiots were jumping off the bridge committing suicide. On our way home, after dark, I saw somebody do it. My parents did not even remotely believe me. The next day it was in the paper and they were shocked that I saw it.
Ahh, the good ole days.
