Liam Neeson Reprising Role of Qui-Gon Jinn for Episodes of

EW reports that Liam Neeson will voice Qui-Gon Jinn on the episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars that will air on January 28 and February 11.
The actor told the magazine, “these characters resonate…even after all these years…. Growing up, my heroes were cowboys; they were strong and mysterious, and it seemed like they always rode off into the sunset. For kids today, Star Wars has that same kind of magic. I really wanted to be a part of that.”

There’s a (non-embeddable) clip available at EW, and from that it’s pretty clear that, as you might guess, he’s appearing in glowing blue force ghost form. For those who really follow the core mythology of the series, this might be a notable thing, given that Qui-Gon was supposedly the first Jedi to learn how to retain his identity after death, and that he would pass that skill on to Obi-Wan from beyond the grave. For those less worried about the small details of continuity, it’s probably just cool to see Liam Neeson back in the Star Wars fold for a brief time.

Man how much money did they throw at him!

He would end interviews on the spot if someone asked him about the prequels!

Also getting paid good money for a couple days' voiceover work that will span across multiple episodes will be pretty freakin' sweet too. I mean c'mon... I'm Aslan, b*tches!"

I wonder if Georgie talked him into doing a bit or 2 that will be added into the prequels later...

Knowing GL he probably will just take a clip made for the CW and throw it in ep3.

Always dissapointed me that we never got to see a spirit Qui with a big ol' hole through his chest talking to Obi and Annie.

He'd probably look more like Sebastian Shaw anyways....

I thought this was pretty cool too. I also don't think the Lucas ever said that Qui Gon can't ever make himself visible, just that he couldn't during the movies. It's possible that you could learn to do it after death presuming you don't have to prepare a certain way before you die to make it work.

Nah, they would have replaced him with Hayden Christiansen.

Poor Sebastian can't get a break!

Nah... knowing Lucas, he'd probably cast a young actor as Qui Gon's ghost. It'll be bye-bye Liam Neeson, hello Justin Bieber...

George's excuse would probably be "Qui Gon died as a matured man but he was always an adolescent at heart."

Too bad he didn't come back for ep2 to voice "Anakin....Anakin! Noooooo!" It sounds so pieced together and the "Nippon" doesn't even sound like him.

As I understand it, he was supposed to appear as a force ghost in AOTC but couldn't as he broke a leg or hip in a motorbike accident before filming. Theres concept art of his ghost in some of the art of SW books. I also read he didn't like GL's process of directing, so another reason why he didn't appear in ROTS.

Interesting to hear he's decided to come back!

As awesome as this news is, watching the available clip with Liam Neeson just shows how awful the Obi-Wan voice actor is.

I thought so to but another great actor is going to do it...Daniel Day-Lewis.

Yeah, kind of distracting. I Frank Oz did his Cookiemonster to voice the "nooooo" part.

Man, you are missing out on a really well done series. Even the new Katie Lucas episodes are a good yarn.

The show is also getting alot darker as time goes on. Well i expect she got some of George's writing talent, just hope she didn't get his revisionist issues too.
