Kick-Ass 2 (Post-release)

Necro post....

Anyone looking to get this on BR when it comes out next week?

Loved the film. The best part of this and the first one is definitely Henry Jackman's score.
I'm planning on getting the BR and the combo pack of Kick-Ass as well, (just bought my 1st BR player :D), but I think the release date has been moved to the 19th.

caught it on itunes yesterday, thought it was very enjoyable, but under KA 1. The soundtrack was less noticeable, less catchy, that's what dulled down the fight scenes for me. But the story development was better this time. Will definitely watch a KA 3 if it happens !

I ordered the soundtrack for KA, the score is not in print in the US, but can be downloaded from amazon. I'm going to wait to get the KA2 soundtrack until after I watch it again. The only "song" that stuck with me was the p****drop song! :lol (and I hate that song). Speaking of sequels, did KA2 do well enough at the box office to justify another installment for the studio?

Yep, they are doing one more. In the comics Kick-Ass 3 is still going on at the moment.

'Kick-Ass 3' to Conclude the Series with a Major Death?

Kick-Ass To Get His Ass Kicked To Death In 'Kick-Ass 3'? | Moviepilot

It didn't do that great in the box office though
Budget $28 million
Box office $59,556,104

On 30 August 2013, Millar stated that the film is "in the pipeline".

Didn't do that great?

They made over double what they spent, and this is before DVD/Blu-Ray sales/rentals, not to mention digital downloads. I think this qualifies the movie as a success.

Agreed, :lol If I can pull a 15% profit in my business I consider it successful, (hell, even breaking even is good! :lol) They had a pretty low budget for this (though big compared to the 1st one)

Success yes, but in studio minds not by much. As for DVD/merch/digital downloads etc... that figure hasn't been released yet. I'm all not sure if the budget includes marketing, which would be in the millions. Sometimes they're added in, sometimes they are not.

Don't get me wrong Im all for more Kick-ass movies.

Uh... no. $59M is the worldwide gross and theaters generally get a 50% cut of it; in some countries like China theaters get more than 50%. And the $28M budget doesn't include marketing, so for theatrical they're definitely in the red. Considering its theatrical reception, I doubt it'll make enough in home video to consider this a success, they should be happy to break even. I think the only reason Universal is thinking about KA3 is b/c the first KA was fairly successful and Universal is really starving for film properties they can turn into franchises.

I picked up the Blu ray combo for Kick-Ass, I watched about 1/2 of the making of on the special features so far :thumbsup It's apparent that there are deleted scenes that didn't make it into the movie, but why not include them in the special features? Anybody know if the Steel Book version has deleted scenes?
Going to pickup Kick-Ass 2 on Blu ray in the morning! (might even drive to wal-mart at midnight to get it ;) )

Great way to take the point. Get all the versions and tell us which one has the most features. I have the big Blu-ray version on the way from Amazon.

I guess with lots of deleted footage there will be an extended version for future release.

I have been putting up a valiant fight against the flu since last week, but yesterday I threw in the towel. :( I couldn't make the 50 miles round trip to Wal-mart, but I did bundle up and forced myself to make it 20 miles to the video store to rent it. They only had it on DVD (small town and behind the times ;) ) The extended scenes on the DVD are cool, and I'd like to see a cut of the film with them added back in. There are 3 short segments on the making of about 10 min each, one is all about the weapons: MFer's pistols are engraved with "My way" on one and "The Highway" on the other, custom made in Canada, I was DROOLING over them! Hit-Girls pistols are 7.65, I was surprised by that, personally I'm going with 9mm when I do the working replicas. (My daughter will have to wait at least a decade or more to take possession ;) ) They discuss the Col. stick, but not his gun, I'm pretty sure that's a SS .45 but I'll see If I can confirm it on the re-watch. There is commentary with the main actors and writer/director but I haven't watched it with that on yet. I have to do some shopping and if I can get my temp back to normal by the afternoon, I'm going to go get the BR. I'm sure there are a lot more features on that. I also found a pretty good case that I can convert to the "last resort" now if I can get it by Christmas!
Ever wonder why the MFer didn't just shoot Kick-Ass during the final battle? (I did) watch the extended scenes...:)

Are you Big Daddy or The Recliner?
Nagh, good effort and your daughter will love those replica 9mm's in a decade.

I figured out the Colonel's pistol a while back and would have to look them back up again. It would be nice to have comfirmation in the extra features.

:lol I'm going to start referring to us as Lazy-Girl and the Recliner. ;)
Just finished watching it with the commentary on, according to Jeff Waldow the MFer's lair at Pinewood was torn down to make space for a new sound stage to film the new Star Wars movies. Maybe we'll see the MF parked in the MFer's lair! :lol

I got the blu-ray/dvd combo for Christmas (My first blu-ray! Woo!) and I was freaking out over the weapons bonus feature!!! Such a great look at the weapons, and especially loved a good look at the Mindy Stick! I KNEW they scaled it up, good to know it's always as tall as she is. Helpful costume knowledge! The MFer's guns are SO kick ass, very ornate and just all-around gorgeous. Loved the look at Hit-Girl's P232s, those custom purple grips are killer. Bigdaddy, so jealous your daughter will be having her own real replicas! Lucky girl!

Also loved the cut scenes, though I still think they should have kept the cut fight scene beginning. Can't believe they cut, "Avengers assemble, as*hole.". LAME. Haven't watched the blu-ray features yet, but looking forward to it! :D
