Anyone else looking forward to seeing this? I am not a huge Costner fan, but I still have high expectations!

My folks are recording both on the DVR so they can watch it all at once.
Its weird timing, I just discovered that my great great grandfathers sister was wife to Asa Harmon McCoy, the first killed by the Hatfields.
I'm actually pretty excited to see this. I'm a huge Paxton fan.
I'm DVRing it. I was really excited by the trailers I saw.![]()
I have been pretty excited about the series and enjoyed it so far.
Maybe Costner won't have that huge of a role. He
May be one of the big names, maybe not that much screen time.
I think Costner is very believable as Anse Hatfield. So too is Paxton as Randall McCoy, but at this point, I think I'd give the acting edge to Costner as the better of the two.
I'll say this, seeing the hatred between the two families grow from trash talk to outright rage is a sight to see. It is one thing to know the families hated each other to seeing it being played out.
My parents go to church with Anse Hatfield's granddaughter. They say she's nice, but quite outspoken. I now see where she gets it from, lol.
The History Channel seems to be making up for last night's limited commercial interruptions.
Two nights in, I'm enjoying it. I'm a fan of both Costner and Paxton. But really, Tom Berenger steals every scene he's in so far.
I've got the DVR set to record all 3 parts, then I'll watch them over a weekend. I've been looking forward to this, since I first saw the trailers, a few weeks ago.

I'm a huge fan of Paxton. The first episode was kinda slow but the second episode picked up. It is getting pretty good.
How accurate is the show compared to the real fued?
It gets confusing at times with so many hicks. They all look alike so its hard to tell which is a Hatfield or a McCoy.
From what I've read, except for some fleshing out, the main details of the feud, who was killed, and by whom, is accurate. We need some Team Hatfield, and Team McCoy shirts in the junkyard. I'm more team Hatfield right now. It's been proven that the McCoy family has/had a 75% rate of having Adrenal Tumors, which ramp up your agression big time, which turns minor Jibes into major insults worth going at it tooth and nail over.
I've been reading up on the history of this feud, and as Oneiros stated, the mini-series is accurate with regards to the big picture of what really happened.
I did learn that the show was filmed in Romania, though. No doubt it made it cheaper to film, but it surprised me a little to learn that.
pretty good so far. love Tom Berenger!! he is stealing the show....
The show pulled in the most viewers for a non-sporting event....ever.
From a news article:
Their bloody family feud made headlines after the Civil War, and over a century later, the "Hatfields & McCoys" are making cable TV ratings history.
History's 3-part miniseries "Hatfields & McCoys" (airing Tues. and Wed. at 9 p.m. ET) attracted 13.9 million viewers on its initial showing, and 17 million overall, with 4.8 million falling into the 18-49 category.
The impressive ratings represent cable's largest ad-supported non-sports audience ever, and are a huge win for History's foray into original historical drama.
Just saw the first episode and am loving it!!!
I didn't think it was too bad, kept me coming back each night. I think they went through the summary at the end too fast, I had to go back and pause it to reread it.
