I saw the bad movies with good scores thread and was gonna post there, but I happen to think this is a good movie.
I just bought the soundtrack to The Ninth Gate and love it as much as the movie. Of course the whole thing is on youtube, so get out your good headphones and give it a listen.
The first track gives me the chills.

I thought Sunshine had an awesome soundtrack. Especially the one song that happens with Kappa in the airlock.

"Ink" has an awesome score for it. Loved it so much I bought the soundtrack on iTunes.

Not a movie, but I dig the Firefly soundtrack too...
Wow... This is a hard one to do, especially since some of the ones I would have chosen has already been posted (such as the soundtracks for Unbreakable and Sunshine).
One that I have to say John Murphy is pretty good. One of the most haunting pieces to me is In The House, In a Heartbeat from the 28 Days Later soundtrack.
The soundtrack to Run Lola Run (Lola Rennt) is another one. From the Introduction track to the Casino track are just awesome. Heck, even tracks that were composed as full on songs are just awesome. My favorite track is Running 3.
David Julyan's work on The Descent and Memento are another two sets that are amazing.

Can't believe I forgot 5th Element. Serra's scores were awesome how almost each song is a alternate take on different cultures like reggae and arabian etc. Clever. Protect Life has to be one of the most emotional instrumental scores in movies, to me anyways.

The original Conan theme is one of the most re-used songs ever.
I'm listening to Kung Fu Panda. They took some effort to sound classically Chinese.

The war rocket ajax jam is probably the finest in movie history.
I forgot one... A really awesome one... Philip Glass' score for Koyaanisqatsi.
The moment you heard the opening track for the opening scene, it hooks into you and doesn't let go.

Anything by Hans Zimmer is worth a listen...Recently "The Pacific" soundtrack and "The Dark Knight" have been high on the list... But "Inception" is a lovely soundtrack too.. And the Call of Duty games soundtrack rocked.... "Blackhawk Down" as well..
I also loved the "X-Men First Class" soundtrack by Henry Jackman.... It rocks... And the new "Star Trek" soundtrack has a lot of good stuff in it too...
All three of the main Indiana Jones movies are worth a good listen as well, since John Williams is a legend.. Although I do tend to find a lot of his work can blur into each other after a while... The original Star Wars, Superman and Indy films are stunning in their depth..
I also appreciated the recent "Lord of the Rings" soundtracks too... Not bad...
Oh, and "Batman: Arkham City" soundtrack was brilliantly done...Really powerful music there..
