I was actually thinking of Keaton, too. I was going to use, "One Good Cop" as the saint part because he wants to adopt his killed partner's children; however, it really did not seem to hold water.
In the movie, "Angles and Demons," Ewan's character was going to be elected Pope for risking his life, until everyone realized he was the killer. So people think he is a saint, until he is caught. Then the Vatican actually covers up his true nature to its followers, who probably still think of him as a saint that died protecting the Vatican. It was worth a shot.
