I though that was the reason behind the subpar movies. To keep the IP from reverting back to Marvel control. The word on the street is that Fox has to feature the characters every so many years or Marvel gets the rights back. This is why Spider Man and FF are being rebooted, and also why we have been getting X-Men Origin Movies.

that is no rumour, it is fact.
thats why Daredevil needs to be in production until fall, otherwise the rights will be reverted to marvel

How about 'FOUR' X-Men movies with Magneto as the villain! Gad, there's other things in the X-men universe.

All the FF are great and strong characters. I don't understand the thinking of Fox. They want the rights, so they can make crappy movies, so they can keep the rights, so they can make more crappy movies.

The rights they do have brings a built in audience. FOX doesn't care, long as the films make them $$.

I'd love to keep the faith on this one, but I just can't see them pulling it together. The impression I got from the previous attempts just felt like they didn't really understand the dynamic of the FF.

Nothing can be worse than the first three. I just hope they include my hometown in it this time. Marvel even sent Stan Lee to make it the Official Home of the Fantastic Four.

there is news that leads me to believe The Avengers 2 will feature a giant, horn-hatted Galactus.

How?, you ask. Isn't Galactus trapped at Fox as part of the Fantastic Four rights package? He sure is, but Kevin Feige and his team of dream wizards at Marvel Studios are right now engaged in character swap talks - Marvel will get Galactus and the Silver Surfer in exchange for letting Fox hang on to Daredevil. Right now Fox is staring down an October 10th start of shooting in order to keep DD's rights, and they have big plans for the character.

Sounds good to me. DD was the very first comic I ever read, but he's fallen off.

As long as they do it right. Galactus is a giant humanoid guy who eats planets. If they're ashamed of that don't make the picture.

I thought Michael Chiklis did a great job as the Thing, that's the only thing I liked about the two Fantastic Four movies. As people have said here, Sue Storm and Reed Richards would be the most difficult to cast. Julie Benz would be great for Sue, depending on how young/old they want to cast the Fantastic Four, Yvonne Strahovski would also be a great choice. For Reed, I look for someone on television like maybe Andrew Lincoln, he has the look and is a pretty decent actor. Johnny Storm is a toss up.

Julie Benz at 40 is probably just a bit too old for Sue. Figuring how long it would take to get the movie in production and potential sequels... I just think they should go a little younger.

I still like your idea of Brooklyn Decker for Sue Storm.

Along with getting Thing right, I think they will have to create a really menacing Dr Doom for the movie to work. Both points were a let down in the previous movies.
