Didn't like Season 1 of Heroes of Cosplay? Open casting for Season 2!

Dang, I was hoping this show died a quiet death with nobody noticing.
What a waste of good air time...

What are you talking about ? I thought the show was great and I really enjoyed it- once I realized 1. what the show's intent was 2. who the show was for 3. who the show was NOT for 4. what audience the show was geared toward and 5. what the show really was versus what my expectation was.

Plus I really dig Crabcat and Holly Conrad, I'm happy she's going to be featured again.

Anybody know if they filmed at MegaCon this year? The costume contest was going to be too late for me to stay and see plus I figured it was going to be slow so they could get the audience fired up, which would have been a lot of work at 5 in the afternoon.

Unlike most of you, I like Ms Han. I just bought warbla for my husband's birthday. Yes, I have researched on YouTube and www. I Do wish they would deal more on the "how to" and not people constructing at the last minute. We attended Wizard World in Louisville & it didn't take long to despise The Smoke. They showed some of their Dr. Who take offs, which were HORRIBLE; and he was way too chunky to think he looked good in his costumes.

If anyone reading this happens to be on Season 2 of HoC, please 'out' yourself here when you can as the first episode airs.

I'm sure we'll be talking about the show, if we know you're on the RPF I'm sure some of the more brash members will be a little nicer in their comments as the season progresses.

I find it odd that they just use most of the same cast for another run. At least that is the way the commercial is leading it that I can see.

I was thinking and I've had another 'lightbulb' moment about this show.

I'm confused why people are still so upset about HoC.
Would a real 'how-to' costume show with lots of build footage and tutorials be neat? Sure, but it's been we'll established that HoC isn't that show.

All HoC is, really, is a video version of an RPF costume build/show-off thread. RPFers give their initial idea, show ref and costume drawings/plans, show some build pics (but not every single little detail, just the broad info), and then show the final costume.

If we love costume builds and show-offs so much, why do we hate them on television?

Since we're all smart enough to know what show HoC isn't, only a fool would waste time or energy contuining to be upset about something they have no control over.

I agree with you there. I enjoyed this show for what it was, seeing the initial concept, highlights of the build and the finished product

Here's what I don't get about it; the show itself is not a competition. This is just a show about some people that make their outfits and go to conventions to compete. Their rules would be dictated by the conventions, not the show. I don't know of any conventions that only allow you one week or whatever to build your costume. So the drama and deadlines these people are going through --they are doing it to themselves. Sure, the convention and costume contest take place on a certain date, but nothing is making these people wait until just days before to start their builds. All their drama seems self inflicted, which to me, makes it less desirable to watch. This is not drama to meet a schedule, this is just drama for the sake of drama. Somehow that deflates it, IMHO.

what youre missing here is that these costumes arent built in just 1 week. its just cut to look like it, to intensify the drama

Well, they always seem to be talking about having only a few days to do their builds, and it seems they are always just getting finished seconds before show time.

All reality shows are doing that. A lot of the car shows (Overhaulin, Fast N' Loud, or the old American Hotrods) do that where they say "I need this built in a week for SEMA!" Well everyone knows that date SEMA is each year. If I ran a business like that I would not take someone's project that had that poor planning.

BTW I'd like to see Chloe Dykstra come back. She seemed more genuine than the others. I wouldn't want to judge anyone based on how they are portrayed on a show, it just seemed that way. I like her even more after Chris Hardwick made a comment about her having bright red hair and some guy asking her if the carpet matched the drapes. She said "I have hardwood floors." :lol

I saw an ad recently and it looks like a few of the "regulars" from the first one are coming back.

I might give this season another try. This time I will know going in that this is an unscripted drama and not a how-to show.

Sent from my Etch A Sketch.

I watched season one and yea i agree YaYa was bad the Monica girl was the worse. I know she was young but really her attitude was horrible. And i might be wrong about this but Rikki girl with the new rocketteir costume? I saw her in Charlotte at Heros Con in 2012 wearing that costume.

I think it was said that most, if not all the costumes created for the show were redos of costumes they had already done. This way the producers could get a known result (assuming they finish) but still get footage of them completing the costume.
