Surgery can repair missing cartilage. Still experimental in the US, has been done several times here. But nothing says that bruce had any surgery, if he had it would have been before the first fight, who knows... Regarding the displaced vertebra, well the injury should have been much more severe (), he was slammed on a knee with not only his full weight, something like 210 lbs in the suit, but Bane added some help to gravity, so he should have had a broken lower spine. But, assuming the basuit did provide some protection to his spine, it would have been more believable if the guy simply had bruce lying on his belly, pushed gently but firmly the vertebra back and left him flat for a while. For real he would have needed surgery, no doubt.

Plus, Bane hit Bruce from the back, which should have pushed the vertebra anteriorly/forward (and this is ignoring the fact that the spinous processes of the vertebra would have been severely fractured from the impact). But in the film, we see the old guy in the jail pushing against Bruce's back to push the vertebra back into place, indicated that the vertebra was displaced posteriorly/outward. That wouldn't make any sense from the force of the impact.

Maybe the old guy meant that either his entire upper or lower spine was displaced, which would justify the pushing to realign the spine... but from what I recall in the dialog, I'm pretty sure he said only ONE of the vertebra was displaced...

When a thread gets long like this I understand the inclination to not read every post....

To be clear: Cartilage can be regenerated: Microfracture surgery - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yes I am aware it does not apply in DKR. I just hate to see incorrect facts attested to as if they were gospel. Then other people distribute them as if they were ironclad certainties because _They read it on yhe internet!_

For some questions, sometimes "He's The Batman" is gonna have to suffice.

That's the reason why when I explain to people some crazy thing he's done. Friends ask me why and I just say he's the (MotherFin) Batman! That's usually explanation enough for them

And that should be all the explanation anybody needs!

Know your role... and shut your mouth. He's the BATMAN!

Technically speaking, the correct phrase is "The Godd*** Batman".

Speaking of easter eggs, if anyone has been, and please forgive me if this has been mentioned before. The sawed-off shotgun Bane wields on Batman seemed out of place, unless its an homage to Mad Max. Foreshadowing Hardy's long upcoming role as Max, maybe ? Anyone?

Saw it last night. The batman I know never took an 8 year hiatus and they veered in other ways, but it hit enough of the right notes for me. Still an entertaining movie.

Thats kind of stretch. The sawed off shotgun didn't seem out of place to me, it seems to fit bane wide and powerful lol. Think about any other gun, it just wouldn't fit well.

If that was the end of the Trilogy, why did they see fit to introduce Robins character? Robin Begins O_o

I personally don't think they "introduced" Robin, I think it was just a nod to him. I was expecting "Richard Grayson" to be his real name.

It's not "Robin" as we know it, Blake will just take up the mantle of the bat, no side-kick business here !

Exactly! This has been discussed so many times in this thread. It seems to be brought up at least every 7-8th post. At least read a few pages back before you post.

I've kept up with this film via this thread and a few other places and....well it may sound odd but while I like Batman Begins I only partially like TDK and from what I've read of TDKR...well I ain't gonna bite.

The last film was okay but had some BORING parts, now you expect me to sit through a nearly three hour, sorry but, even MORE boring film?

    I don't think so!

I just didn't like the second one that much and really only watch for The Joker, the end was as has been said, off, and I think poking Joker and having him retaliate would be expected and part of the series.

And I don't care BATMAN does not just slink away! he keeps going no matter what, that right there made me really sign off on the film, gone for eight years? who is he? Superman??

I may or may not get the DVD,but for my money this month I'll go see Total Recall

I enjoyed each one of Chris Nolan's Batman movies. I liked DKR so much that I am going to see it again this weekend.

I haven't gone back to the Theater to see same movie again in years.

The last movie that I saw a couple times in the theater was Gladiator.

Watched it again. Noticed a couple small things. Where Bane breaks Bats back he does a lift up while bats is facing up. And after the snap drops Bats on his face. Maybe that is where the vertebrae gets dislodged rearward? Also there is a scene between the 5 seconds on the bomb and Bats. It does not show the timer and Bats at the same time.

Like I said just a thought from a second viewing.
