met the guy on motorshow essen few years back where my car was on display (kadet coupe GT/E) had a ten-15 minute chat with him. chat was simular to his talking in the show. lots of as you indeed say misunderstood humor.

"ow the old rally opels, rubbish and no match for the escorts"

than it got alot more serious and he asked tons of questions about it and he realy enjoyed the car. found him a realy nice guy with serious interest in cars.
got complimented that it was becoming rather rare that a GT/E was completely stock and had no fancy hifi system or aftermarket rims. especialy when it is a unrestored original with 40.000 km on clock :)

I think he might be safe, the fact they have cancelled the next three weeks of live shows, but none after that suggests the team will be spending the next three weeks filming the last three shows of the season,

Too be fair he was wrong to say that about truckers........he should have said it about taxi drivers instead as they're all A-holes.

Wonder how many of the 1million signatories for his reinstatement would lend support to someone who had punched them, a family member, or friend after throwing a hissy fit for not having a steak dinner ready for them.

.....but do we really know what happened & under what circumstance?

All I know for sure is that I will miss Jeremy & Top Gear if it goes

Please get off your high horse with comments like that. Millions of people love this show and a big reason for that is Jeremy. If you held every entertainer to task for things they've done in their personal lives we probably wouldn't have any movies, TV shows or music to enjoy.

My first question would be, "What did you do to **** them off enough to hit you?" I will retort with, what did said producer do to get Jeremy to hit him? I would put money that it wasn't just the lack of hot food. I would bet he had been a total ****** during the shoot and the proverbial straw was the lack of a hot meal for them after a 14 hour day+ of working.

Let's be realistic Clarkson Is pro-British, white and talks the language of the working class man , he was never going to last in the BBC.

Time to scrap the licence fee and sack the producer for not getting Jezza his hard earned steak.

If May and Hammond leave too as they threatened they would, BBC just shot itself in the foot. Who's gonna watch Top Gear without these three ? Especially if they start a new car show similar on another channel !

Sorry if I don't cry because a man who made more this year than I will make in the rest of my life had a rough day, verbally abused someone, hit that someone, and got fired for it. Is Top Gear ruined? Maybe, maybe not. Only time will tell.

As for the show itself, I usually fast forward through the car reviews. The cars are always some combination of too expensive, not sold in my country, and stupid. I only really watch for the competitions, ridiculous builds, and the star in a reasonably priced car.

Top Gear was originally a short lived motoring program that did fail, and it was Jeremy Clarkson that saved it.

Maybe the folks at the BBC think the franchise is too popular to hinge on its presenters rather than its content and style (Top Gear has programs in other countries with other hosts) or maybe they think that Hammond and May will cave and continue doing the show when faced with the real threat of termination. Who knows? Personally I doubt they will do it without him, and I doubt Top Gear UK will survive without them.
