They could always come up with some way to make another one I'm sure, I'd love to see more of the monsters.
Interesting read if you liked the movie:
(spoilers)
Cabin in the Woods director Drew Goddard goes in-depth about the secrets of the movie
The wife and I saw this last night and I have to say it was a really fun movie. I went into it knowing nothing other than what you see in the trailers so I was pleasantly surprised with where this movie went.
Im not too sure about interesting read lol That was an extremely long winded interview that really didnt add any insight into the movie. It was a typical Quint interview kissing the butt of the person he's interviewing. The pics attached (pulled from the Visual Companion book) were sweet though
Just show us another country off in the middle of know where running their scenario and complaining about how they never get it "right", but then save the day.
I was somewhat disappointed by this one. I went in wanting to like it... just didn't click with me.
I think Chris Hemsworth is worth his weight in gold as a charismatic actor. The other's were solid as well.
I can't put my finger on what I didn't care for. Maybe it was the "twist" just being a little too in front of our noses? I LOL'd during that certain scene everyone seems to be mentioning... I thought it was great and the design's were spot on.
I don't think this one was aiming for subtlety. There were so many people laughing in the theatre at the scene with all the talk before the motorcycle stunt just knowing what to expect. The movie didn't really have a 'twist' it was pretty clear from the beginning what was going on. The only reason was the justification of why things were going on. We as the audience were essentially the reason why the people in the downstairs were doing the things they were doing.
The visual guide is awesome if anyone is thinking about picking it up.
Saw it tonight, and it was damned good. Went in pretty much blind (I had read the first 6 or 8 pages of the official novel), and was pleasantly surprised at the movie. Great humor, great carnage, great story.
Still laughed the hardest atthough.Spoiler:

I loved this movie sooooo much, I'm definitely going to see it again this weekend, back to back with The Avengers. A Whedon double feature!
Ok. Feeling kinda dumb but need to share this MEGA GIGANTIC SPOILER for the movie.
I was heading to bed, just crawled into the covers and was thinking my random thoughts before going to sleep, and it hit me...
This movie...Spoiler:
Mind blown.
I mean, I understood the movie, I loved the movie, I enjoyed the movie, I just never really thought the meanings went THAT deep.
Am I the only one?
Chris
Ah, cool. I went into the movie pretty much blind (only saw one trailer), and didn't read any of the interviews.
It's a hell of a movie, I'll give em that.
Chris
The Cabin in the Woods finally got released here. Such a fantastic film with a unique take on the horror genre.
I was familiar with the plot of the movie, as I once remember watching the trailer (then regretting it) months ago, but it still delivered the goods on the surprise factor on multiple occasions.
Why Lionsgate didn't promote it properly is still a mystery to me.
Yeah I avoided all forum threads and other online articles/discussion pertaining to the movie until now.
The delay was more to do with MGM's bankruptcy in 2010. Lionsgate lost out on a great opportunity here. Just like Warner Bros missed out on the marketing and proper release of Trick 'r Treat.
Indeed they won't, else somebody at Lionsgate will lose their job.
