    Aug 3, 2012 - Best theater room ever? #1

Its being built by Elite Home Theater Seating (Same company that did the PotC theater room) for a customer in Conn. The installation includes a separate study which is the entrance to the hidden cinema. The study, complete with a stately grandfather clock, is flanked by bookshelves upon which sits a bust of William Shakespeare.
A clockwise turn of the writer's head the grandfather clock swings open to reveal the elevator doors. A real fingerprint scan is required to gain access to the elevator.

Stepping into the cylindrical stainless steel elevator a glowing Bat symbol pulsates at the bottom of the button panel. To the left of the symbol, is the letter 'B' that stands for Batcave.

After pressing the iconic glowing bat symbol, the elevator descends and the floor-to-ceiling mirrors on either side of the elevator come alive by displaying various body scanning graphics.
Once the elevator occupants have been properly 'identified', a robotic female voice states over the intercom system, 'Security Clearance
    Granted'.

Amish is right, its a concept drawing. But they have started construction on it and expect it to be done by November. The tumbler will be a 1:1 replica with a 30' faux tunnel exit.

Heres the company's website, which they will update with pics and you can see the awesome PotC theater they did.

Because this is just a concept drawing. I'm guessing this isn't the exact representation but an idea of what to expect.

I've always been wary about the comic book franchises because they reboot so often. You get a really cool batcave and then there's a reboot and everything looks different. I stick to franchises that have looked the same for at least 20 years.

    VERY cool room though.

I'd be more impressed if someone here was able to do it without spending a boatload of cash.

I'm just not impressed by designs that are only possible because someone has tons of money that they can burn on a project like that.

Bring that same design in under 100k and i'd be impressed, for roughly 2 mil US, not impressed. Doesn't mean it doesn't look damn good, but for 2 mil it damn sure should.

Although I like your way of thinking,....but it would be impossible to build it for under $100k. Itll cost more than that just in the bare construction. Its got its own elevator that goes underground,....it has a full size replica tumbler,....it has a 30' exit tunnel that dead ends under ground. Just the technology alone is in the 100s of thousands.

If it has all of those features, then yes, the price is well calculated and justified. Really cool, really, really cool. I´d love to have clients who´d spend the cash on such a theater room.

Looks frakking awesome, not for me but still awesome. I prefer more comfortable seats that you could curl up on. Still if anyone wanted to build me one like this I wouldn't say no!.

I realize some of the features necessitate a high price, but if you've got 2 mil to spend on a theatre room, it should look unbelievable. Gimme 2 million to spend on one room and i'll blow you out of the water with a design as well.

With some of the rooms i've seen people doing here, giving them 100k to work on their design would generate results that'd blow me away i'd imagine. What they do on much lower budgets than that blow me away - that millenium falcon style game room comes to mind for one. Another would be the POTC bedroom.

When you spend 2 mil on a room, there really isn't a limit to what you can do.

    OMG! That is sooo awesome!

With everything so high tech, high priced and custom made, seems
to me that $2 million USD would barely cover the cost of the cave
with the Batmobile and tunnel behind the bookcases, and an elevator
    to get you down there.

Must be nice to be that rich
