Oh baby we're close and with Joss behind it...(sqeeel!)
I would definitely give this a shot.
There are enough b-list heroes in Marvel that could be in the show and still be cool.
Even if it regular human agents going after the unusual villains it could be interesting.

With Joss' history in TV, I had a feeling after they hired him for Avengers, and then the sequel, that they just had to be talking to him about the TV shows they wanted to do.
I wonder how many heroes may die at the hands of Joss lol
With Joss' history in TV, I expect the following:
- The show will be full of hyper-witty banter and wry humor.
- The show will be canceled in 1-2 seasons. Probably 1.
- The show will end on a forever-unresolved cliffhanger, or at least will end with a LOT of unanswered questions.
- A main character will die in a pointless way, just after having one of the best days of their lives. I'm talking stray power line, open manhole cover, hit by a bus, burst appendix, whatever.
so, reading those characters, he will make firefly again?
Coulson lives! Well kinda...it seems Son of Coul will be the star of the SHIELD tv show.
Rejoice! Agent Coulson will be in the new S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!
That is great news! I wonder how they are going to pull this off.. will the show take place before the Avengers? I can't get enough of Phil!
Part of me just hopes they don't explain it. The TV show/movies just have Coulson.... no explanation necessary, it's SHIELD.
I do understand it would it would drive fanboys batty and it 'would ruin' the Avengers, etc. for some.![]()
LMD: Life Model Decoy. Shield loves to use them in the comics. In fact Tony Stark mentions the LMD in the beginning of The Avengers when Coulson visits.
Life Model Decoy (comic book object)
Simplest explanation is almost often true - Coulson's inclusion means the show will take place prior to Avengers. When you think about how much SHIELD had going on with their Phase 2 weapons program and tracking all the different Avenger recruits, there's plenty of story to tell in between Thor and Avengers. Clark Gregg is also too much a fan favorite (and a TV veteran to boot) that they'd try to force a show without a recognizable face.
Having a SHIELD show after Avengers and not showing Steve Rogers, BW, and Hawkeye at all is too much of a stretch. Not showing Nick Fury already makes this a tough pill to swallow, unless SLJ wants to amend his contract; he takes on any role these days, maybe he'll consider cameos on TV? If the show picks up enough steam and supporting roles in the show start to gain traction, I'm quite sure they will expand the timeline to spill into the MCU Phase 2.
One can only hope. Even with Whedon involved, this smells to me like it could vary from watchable to complete trash. The MCU films already establish the upper echelon, it's going to be near-impossible for a TV show to impress us at that level unless ABC-Disney decides to throw the bank at this.
The simplest explanation is that Fury lied to everyone about it. He is obviously not above that kind of thing.
Well however they decide to have Son of Coul in the show, ill buy it!
I didn't have much interest in the show when it was just going to be a bunch of characters I'd never heard of. Phil being in just sold me on the show.
Ming-Na To Star In Joss Whedons ABC Pilot Marvels S.H.I.E.L.D.
Hmm... yes, yes, Yes, Yes, YES, YES, YES!!!!! Mulan is an agent of SHIELD! But seriously, I enjoy a lot of Ming-Na's work and I'm excited that they've brought in another talented actress into the Marvel universe.
With the rumors that this could be the last season of How I Met Your Mother, maybe we'll also see Cobie land a role. Robin Sparkles kicked butt in the Avengers.![]()
I can't wait for this show. I hope they put some superhero cameos in it.
