you seriously think coulson is dead? really?

why the hell would fury then use the trick with the cards, that werent even on coulson?
no way coulson is really dead.
The cards were simply the vehicle for Fury's manipulation. They were the physical manifestation of Coulson's belief in something more, the team. The Avengers. Fury would have used them the same if Coulson's death was real or fake.

The real question is... If he really was alive, would Coulson actually let Fury ruin his near mint set!?

Well, I suppose if they ever go that route in a film, they could cast Sarah Jessica Parker. It's not like they would need anything to make her look like a horse.

    Zing!
    Ouch.

And incidentally, she dated RDj in the 80s.

all I gotta say is, I loved the film. I have only seen it once in IMAX 3D but my and my temporary gf loved it.

I think whedon did what he always does best which is give a group equal footing (for the most part) I still love Iron man out of everyone.....

Love the second ending. Just loved it.

Not a whole lot, just the Avengers sitting together at the shawarma restaurant eating. The scene is youtube if you want to see it, it's a pretty funny little scene but it doesn't hint anything greater, it's clear that it was something that Joss did just for laughs.
Blast! Anyone got a link? I've searched all over YouTube and found nothing but parody videos.

It was easier then tossing his dead body on the table, and a lot less messy.

The little boy on Loki's shoulders is my best friend from high school's kid, Edison. He also got some great pics with Chris Evans. He's making quite the rounds on the internet this week!

I kept on silently riffing the movie (mst3k style) all the time when SJ was on.

Saw. Good flick. Hulk stole the film.
Standard comic team up story though, don't get along, fight each other,
learn to get along for common goal. Which is fine, that's typical of
comics no need to change that, but it was easy to predict early on
how it all would turn out.

Score was rather boring and generic.
Not like you come out of there with an Avengers theme in your head,
which should have been the case.

Four ducted fans hold a massive super carrier in the air?
Um no. But that's the flyer in me.

Physics over the top of course, broken bones should have
occured left and right for the normal humans, and my gripe with Iron Man since day one,
they would be pouring that dude out of those boots because he
would be liquified by the G forces, there is no "inertial damper" excuse
that I would buy for that.

But again, it's comics so they get away with it.

The glimpses of Marvel space look right out of Ron Lim artwork.

Thanos. Very good. Very very good.
But I hope it's for Silver Surfer and not a Thor sequal.

It's really time they did Silver Surfer properly now
they have a real Marvel feel and style nailed now.

I felt Alan Silvestri's main Assemble Theme was glorious. Small part of that theme is used during the title sequence & fully used during that surround group shot.

I am sure you will recognize it now. From the scene "That's my secret Captain" till they all Assemble. Direct link to Assemble theme Assemble - Alan Silvestri (The Avengers) - YouTube (3:20 mark)

Variations of this theme was also used in other parts in the second half of the film, including just before closing credits (Stark/Avengers Tower) and during the credits as well.

Another one of my favourite tracks from the score is during the Helicarrier sequence.

I agree with this, I can't recall a note of the score. They needed a score on the scale of "Superman: The Movie" to really solidify it.

On its own, it might be an awesome piece of music - but, never really got to spectacular movie theme level, IMO.

Whether it was overshadowed by dialouge, sound effects or something else - and I'm sure having that many main characters didn't help (three or four of which were deserving of their own theme). A rock solid score might've taken this already amazing movie up a notch... but, the flick worked wonders without it.

A little, but I think his WW2 duds had more style and looked 'real' to me, while his new one just seems more costumy like the one he wore while on stage.

Yeah. We laugh at Indy in his fridge yet Stark in his flying fridge is okay. from the time he escaped in Iron Man 1 and landed hard in the sand, they have ignored impacts. He isn't even bruised.

And the 2 other ordinary people have no armor at all.

Actually I thought the landing was pretty silly too in "Iron Man" in his Mark I suit. I can accept the Mark II suit having something in it like a magical 'inertial damper' but that first suit came completely apart and was so pieced together on that he should have gone squish.

    It's not the outfit - it's the helmet/mask.

On it's own the costume/suit/uniform isn't too bad. It's still not terrific... even the WWII costume had some issues and the mask/helmet was among them.

One issue I had with the new Cap costume was that he looked too skinny - I'm more accustomed to a bulkier Captain America.
