Packing the family up for a 2 week road trip on Wednesday, and along the route we're already planning to stop at Redwood National Park. Does anyone have a reasonable GPS POI or lat/long for the location of the bunker shoot? Think the kiddies will get a kick out of seeing the spot as they're both on a RotJ thing right now
Well, the bunker shoot looks nothing like what you see in the movie. Since the production needed to use explosives they couldn't shoot on national forest land. So they decided to shoot in a area that was going to be logged shortly after the filming. It is very difficult to get to the original location,and it sadly looks nothing like the original setting. If you still want to see it you can contact Brandon Alinger from Propstore as he refound this location.
Ahhh...I was under the impression that that clearing was more or less the same still (actually someone mentioned a couple fiberglass chunks of bunker still being there). Thanks for the heads up, it`ll save some time!
