Ant-Man

I was looking forward to this being a big fan of Wright (although I really didn't like the worlds end).

I think Phase 3 will be a shift from Marvel to the Disney Cinematic Universe.

Marvel in all likelihood is going to end up with an inexperienced director. Nobody respectable and/or with a solid resume is going to touch Wright's baby after 8 years of pregnancy and possibly poor rewrites. I would prefer they find an outside person instead of just getting D'Esposito to direct, someone from TV perhaps. Time is real money at this point, if they can't lock down a director in the next few weeks (SDCC being their hard deadline) they're probably going to postpone the release date.

They just need to have SOMEBODY signed on and finish this film. With all this pre-production mess and pressure to stick with the July release, if they can keep it as good as Thor TDW, I'll be happy with the outcome.

Pegg Responds To "Ant-Man" Debacle | News | Dark Horizons

"I think it's a terrible shame. I think I get, perhaps, why it's happened - I think maybe [Marvel Studios] want a particular thing in line with a particular other thing, but if you hire a director who has a particular vision, you've got to expect him or her to make a 'such and such' film, an Edgar Wright film.
And that's what that script was. [It was] interesting, the character has a real journey. I can't say too much about it, because obviously, it's not my thing, but it's their loss."- Simon Pegg

I was also able to see the Ant-Man suit, and it is more elaborate than Wright's SDCC teaser but still retains the overall look. The helmet design actually looks pretty close to the teaser, but the suit has been revised with what looked like armor plate sections. There's also an open-face version of the helmet which is probably the helmet flipped open, but the flipped up part of the helmet is pretty well-hidden, could be a retractable faceplate ala Star-Lord's helmet.

First look at the (finalized?) suit!

Guess I didn't get a good enough look as the chest didn't have armor plating, just part of the fabric design :lol

The prop helmet design looks simpler than the one on the concept art, probably Pym's earlier version of the suit shown at SDCC.
