Commemorating our first 1,000 Items aboard, PROPbay.com, teaming up with leading movie memorabilia vendor Prop Store of London is proud to present you a new chance to win a 100GBP/150USD gift voucher to spend with us.
All you need to do is register for an account at PROPbay.com (if you haven't done so already) and add AT LEAST ONE item to your own Wishlist!
Browse our directory of Original movie props, wardrobe and production/crew/promo Items and ADD one or more to your Wishlist simply by clicking where it reads "Want this Item? ADD IT to your own WISHLIST…" - That's it!
Please note: you can add an unlimited amount of items to your Wishlist, but they do NOT imply more chances of winning.
Want more chances of winning? The following two OPTIONAL steps will increase them!
1) Have uploaded AT LEAST ONE item from your collection to PROPbay. The more uploads, the more chances. This option HAS retroactive effect, ie. no matter when the upload took place! Please note the limit of chances is set to a maximum of 5 additional. This means you can upload as many items as you want to PROPbay but only 5 will count towards the extra chances.
You also will be able to check if the Items you upload are among the most desired in our Top 100 Most Desired Items ranking!
2) If you have purchased the item at Prop Store, be sure to include one picture of the COA with it! The more items purchased at Prop Store and uploaded to PROPbay, the higher the chances! This option only applies to COAs uploaded while this contest lasts, starting TODAY. Previous items deleted from our database and reuploaded may result in disqualification of the contest. There's no limit on the Items you can upload with Prop Store COAs, so the more Items bought at Prop Store, the higher the chances!
ATTENTION: we do NOT require a full high resolution scan of the COA, in fact we suggest you NOT to do that, just picture it along with your Item and it's done!

We're very pleased to announce two top notch new features aboard PROPbay.com
Improved Item Search & Celebrities
First, we now feature a new, improved search for Items, to further improve the results you expect in our fast growing database of Original Movie Memorabilia: the Filter Options now include 3 modes of operating Item Search:
Item names only will operate as usual, searching your term inside the ITEM TITLE only.
Item names and description will search your term inside both the item title and the description. This offers a wider results page for more generic therms so you could look up everything related to a "grenade" and not grenade items alone.
Celebrity names will help you locate items related to a specific actor, director or renowned crew member, and at the same time it will autosuggest full names from our own database! Do remember while adding new Items to PROPbay, that you can use full crew names in the descriptions (that will later autolink to their IMDB profile) and will help other users find that specific Item your hero uses in the production!
Item Views Feature
We also feature a new way of learning how well are your Items performing in terms of visits: by accessing to your LIST of Items you (and for now, only you) will be able to see the amount of visits each of your Items are receiving!
The list features the TOTAL AMOUNT of visits PER MOVIE your Items are generating, but you will also notice theicon that will expand the list and let you see how each Item is performing INDIVIDUALLY. If there are more than 10 entries then a link will let you access the full list of Items for that particular movie.
Just press BACK in your browser button to get back to the full list again. You can also collapse a list anytime by pressing theicon.
Smart Scrollbars
For all of you enthusiasts willing to expand descriptions with lots of details and information on your grail piece, we have now enabled smart scrollbars for the Description field: just scroll over a long description and scrollbars will appear to allo you go up and down the whole story of the Item you're watching!
A "Scroll for more" will also appear (and disappear when rollover) when there's more description to read, so you don't miss a point of the story!
Top 5 Desired
We have also added a Top 5 Desired Items list to the header of each page, based in our Top 100 Most Desired Items Ranking at PROPbay.com where you can see the Items that are most desired to purchase by our audience! If your Item is in this list you may want to consider selling it in our Marketplace!
Additionally, now each first position in our Top 5 Rankings are displayed in bold!
Top 100 Users Ranking
We have also added a couple more parameters to our algorythm ranking the users at PROPbay.com based on their site activity and collections uploaded. We always try to tune up the ranking to get closer to the best collections based in lots of parameters.
Aside from all these juicy features we have fixed numerous bugs and internal improvements to make your experience on PROPbay even better!

Buy Now Banner
Now all Items marked For Sale in our Marketplace feature a BUY NOW red banner on the upper right corner, so anyone visiting PROPbay can quickly see which of the Items the site is listing is available for sale.
Just click the BUY NOW banner and you'll be taken to the Marketplace listing so you can start dealing with the seller immediately!
YouTube Code
Now when you submit a new Item to PROPbay's database, you can include the YouTube video code of a video of your prop in action (lights, movement, etc), your wardrobe display, movie trailer, movie excerpt your Item is being used on, etc. so your listing is even more complete!
The field refers to the video code you find in a YouTube URL, in the format of http://www.youtube.c0m/watch?v=XXXXXXXXX where XXXXXXXX is the Code you must fill the field with.
Do remember it's an optional field and you can also EDIT your already uploaded Items to include this new information and make your listings more appealing for a Sale in our Marketplace, for example!
While surfing our database, just look for theicon besides the IMDB one, to the right of the Movie name field, and click on it to have it play the related video on your screen.
Quick Block Comments
When adding a new item to PROPbay's database you have the option to block the Item's Comments. Now we added a shortcut for you to both learn the status of your listings and quickly turn off further comments on a particular item.
Just click theicon at any moment (GREEN: Comments are welcome!) and then it will turn to
(RED: Comments are blocked!), meaning no more comments will be posted unless you click the red icon and enable them again!
This way, you have TOTAL control over which Items can be commented or not, without blocking the whole user experience.
Additionally to these new features, we've applied a number of cosmethic changes to the way the Items are listed, hopefully making them more appealing and cool looking. More features coming soon!

We just passed the First 1000 Items Landmark on the Movie Props category, thanks to all of you who uploaded your collections to PROPbay and specially our users Paulie, Kevj and Hollywood History, which in the last few hours has uploaded such a vast collection Movie Horror History we invite you all to check it out!
This also empowers our Celebrities dabatase to more than 575 people linked to our favourite Items which you can search with the aid of an Autocomplete engine in the Filter Options of our database.

We just broke the 100 Items mark in our "screenmatched" section!
Getting the screenmatch mark at PROPbay is not an easy task so every and each of the 100+ Items should be watched with big pride and enthusiasm by both owners and hobbyists!

New User Score Bonus
We would aslo like to introduce you a new scoring system, more accurate, for our Top 100 Users ranking!
We're pretty excited at it, as it delivers an additional score bonus for key props and grail items. By default when you upload an Item to PROPbay, it goes as "regular" Item. However we soon found out certain collectors only upload very few Items, but Items that are actual Holy Grails within the hobby.
As a way to reward such items against users that own (besides grails) TONS of other items, we now introduce a score bonus on such items, we manually review and grant based on many factors (hero, stunt, rarity, match, ooak, key prop, etc.).
Plus, we have the option to add a small bonus to those items that have certain degree of importance in the movie or by rarity can be considered "special" among the rest, not necessarily being holy grails, but still worth visiting.
We expect huge changes on the top 100 users ranking in the next few hours, so don't panic. It's our own interpretation of the user collection within PROPbay and this should not demish other collectors to upload all their collections to PROPbay and try fighting for the first place!

We now feature vimeo videos aboard PROPbay.com listings!
When you add a new item to PROPbay.com's database, you now have the choice to add a Vimeo video code to it (and/or a YouTube video code as well). You just need to copy and paste your video CODE (not the full URL) in the required field and our system will do the rest.
Our listings now feature an overlay image when a video code is added to your listings, so visually your visitors will get a quicker idea of where or when was your piece of memorabilia used in the film or production.
You can use the Video code fields to showcase your prop in action, your celebrity wearing it or backstage video footage of that storyboard or clapperboard in the making of the movie, or simply a trailer to the movie.
Please note that vimeo is granted PRIORITY over YouTube if both fields are filled, so if you fill both and someone clicks the PLAY VIDEO overlay icon, they will get the VIMEO video played. To access the YouTube video, users will still be able to click the individual icons to the right of the movie name.
ATTENTION: linking to videos that have nothing to do with the item being listed (for promotional purposes (spam, ads...), jokes or inappropiate content) will not be tolerated and may translate into termination of your account at PROPbay.com
New Submitting Guidelines + Collapse/Expand Button
We also added a collapse/expand button to the ITEM SUBMISSION GUIDELINES table for you to hide them temporarily (or permanently until you clear your browsers' cookies). This allows users already used to submit items to PROPbay.com a faster access to the required information fields.
However we recommend you to expand and re-read them from time to time as we may have included new and useful tips to get the most of your listings at PROPbay.com
We took the oportunity to review the guidelines and suggest a few new tips for you to get the most of your listings, regarding the new video code and google/propbay search results:
- NEW! YouTube Code and vimeo Code refer to the video code you find in a YouTube or Vimeo URL, in the format of http://www.youtube.c0m/watch=xxxxxxxx
or xxxxxx on Vimeo and it's an optional field for you to showcase your item in action (lights, movement), wardrobe display, movie trailer, whatever you feel it fits nice with your listing! You can use both fields but please note vimeo videos will have priority on the PLAY VIDEO overlay icon that will appear on your video-enabled listings!- NEW! Refrain from adding the movie or show name to the Item's Name field. Our system is set up to automatically add it based on your Movie choice and hence may affect you negatively on google searches...
- NEW! We also suggest you to add Celebrity Names to your listing descriptions, based on who uses your item, wears your wardrobe or directed/designed that shot or scene! Our system will automatically link them, so you don't have to do anything else, and will help other users locate those items related to their favorite celebrity in a breeze, getting better results from Google searches as well.
And just a final note to thank ALL the new users who just registered and started sharing their collections recently! There have been quite a few, so thank you all for your support!
