Doctor Doom Test Arm - created for pre-production makeup and effects tests, made when Nicolas Cage was original cast in the role.







Magic the Gathering Commercials
Doug Jones - Images taken at XFX studio of costume test for a series of comercials you may remember from the mid 90's. Doug Jones played the "Poodle Man".

Blade II
Reaper Vampires - XFX created all the Reaper Vampire effects, makeup, and contacts.









Wrongfully Accused
Leslie Nielsen - XFX designed the effects in the film including this mask used by Nielsen's stunt double.

Fright Night
The Original Film - Steve Johnson and crew created the effects in this one of a kind vampire film, including hand painted contacts.









Innocent Blood
Another vampire classic, also included contact effects like eye-shine and blood on black eyes:

The Abyss
NTI Light Box Controller - "This air cooled box would have had fiber optic cable attached to the hole in the front. Once switched on the color wheel spins causing the Alien NTI to strobe with vibrant colors under water creating the ethereal effect desired by director James Cameron."







Ghostbusters
Slimer test eyes- designed and created by Steve Johnson, the now classic character stole the show in the original film.



Dick Smith
Friend of Steve Johnson, he is a forefather of modern makeup and monster effects.

Bronze Statue - created in honor of completion of effects for the film.





Species I and II
Sil - Steve Johnson's team (including the Oscar Winning Bill Corso) joined forced with visionary artist H.R. Giger to design and create the alien effects in both films.



Dreamcatcher
Mister Grey and ***** Weasels - With illustrations by 'Crash' McCreery and Constantine Sekeris, XFX (Edge FX) designed the look of all the makeup and alien effects.

"Prehistoric" Bone Chairs - made in the mid 90's, these chairs are one of a kind works of art created for a 1 minute commercial.



First Wave
Pre-production alien design by artist Kerry Gammill.



Poltergeist 2
H.R. Giger Lithograph - many of the ghost designs used to create effects in the film were created by Giger.



Star Trek Nemesis
Data / B4 - body-part effects were created by Steve Johnson's company.



Jarhead
Burned Bodies - the entire collection of "bodies" for some of the most surreal scenes in the film were created by XFX.
