Hmmm.... looks like those windows popped out of the 2010 Discovery command sphere again. Carson Dyle and I tried to glue those in tight when we fixed it up. Damn.

Always a joy to see the Rodger Young; one of my all time favorite space ships, thanks!

I don't recognize that Star Destroyer at all. You say this was a ESB model? Never seen this one before...

boys,
thanks for this info. But I took advice at the exhibit makers and confirmed it was ESB. I'll get an official info soon. R2-D2 is ESB anyway. |

Re: Starship troopers and 2001 in Paris Science and fiction expo
Yes, and I think if the original filming miniatures of the Pan Am ship and Moonbus from 2001 had surfaced..... we'd have heard about it by now......
The 2010 Discovery ship is the real thing and I heard it went to Paris after its sale at Profiles...... so likely it is a mix of real props and replicas that's not quite getting through in the translation. Still looks like a neat exhibit though.... Gene |

Definitely not the hero Star Destroyer from ANH or TESB. If it is authentic, then it's something that we haven't seen before - how big is it?

Re: Starship troopers and 2001 in Paris Science and fiction expo
The 2001 models are replicas (and clearly stated as such). The clipper is not made from original moulds, it is modeled from the ground up.
As far as i can remember, all replicas in the exhibit were marked as replicas. Impressive setup, but it did close a few weeks ago. Cheers, Wasili |
