Screen used miniatures

Here are some screen used (and matched) miniatures I found thru the years.

1. Escape from New York miniature buildings
2. V tanker miniature used for sfx shots of V The Final Battle.
3. Miniature crane section from Total Recall

I love movie miniatures and I'm always fascinated about the details and materials used. I'm very interested in the old fashion visual effects which I prefer over CGI. I made a sci-fi short movie on Super 8 using self made miniatures. If anything goes right it will be finished this years (finger crossed).

Here's a pic of the tanker before it was sold by the previous owner, producer Fuller French. It then broke in parts and needs to be glued.

How did the shuttle break in parts if you care to say? I remember when it showed up on that moviemonstermuseum.com. Is that who you bought it from after they got it from Fuller french or is are you the movie monster museum guy and kept it? just curious.
I thought of getting one of the smaller shuttle crafts from fuller when he had the scifihollywood site but was quoted 5000 he would have sold for less though I sure.

I bought it from the guy from moviemonstermuseum.com. He got it from Fuller French. It arrived to me broken in 5 parts which simply needs to be glued again.

The tanker came with 2 certificates of authenticity. One from Fuller French and one from the owner of the moviemonstermuseum site.

The miniature is unique as stated by model maker Greg Jein in the COA of Fuller French.

You can match the model in the last episode of V The Final Battle. It approaches the mother ship near the end of the episode.

I would be happy to provide more details if requested.

I see some of the small E from NY building as local shows. They are just blocks with dark squares......nothing fancy, but I like 'em. I don't recall the guy having any proof or I'd prob have one or two.

As promised here are more detailed pics of the tanker and a screenshot from the show where you can see it in action.

cylon, I love the V tanker!

BTW, how long is it? I was talking with Kenneth Johnson(V's creator) and he still has the Tanker FX model that was used in the original V mini-series. I wonder if they were both the same size.

it is a bit longer than 1 meter or approx. 42 inches i guess. i need to measure it to know for sure.

as far as i know 2 tankers were made for the show. one with landing gears used for the take off when donovan gets on the mothership to discover the real nature of the visitors in the miniseries and one for in flight sequences (see the pic above).
