Hello all. Very new poster, Not very much experience (none?) in props and the acquisition of them.
I will try and keep this general in nature:
I have a prop that somewhere in time got broken, a large piece is missing. Repairs were made to blend in the area where the missing part used to attach. Then the whole thing was repainted beautifully. The difference being one accent color quite different to the screen seen items.
What is the consensus or opinions of those that are knowledgeable in original props:
1) Acquire the missing part and have it re-installed (if even possible to hunt down), with just paint work on the repair?
2) Same as 2 but repaint the entire item back to correct? (or maybe just the few areas that have the wrong color)
3) Enjoy it as is, while kicking yourself in the behind for not learning more before pulling the trigger?
