Well according to the trailer for Skyfall, his new PPK is a "9mm short", which is .380 caliber. Not sure about Quantum of Solace though.

Well since they probably used the actual guns in the film, my answer is still the same. They wouldn't use a cheap knock-off blank gun, they just mod the real thing.

Early Bond films it was a Walther PPK .32 but it could have easily been a Interarms PPK I'm the later films as those were produced in the 80's. Skyfall's PPK is a .380 produced by Smith & Wesson. We know this because of the extended beaver tail that is unique to S&W. It's a .380 because S&W doesn't produce a blued .32, only in stainless.

This is also true. The PPKs were originally produced ONLY in .32, hence why it would have been so in the earlier Bond films. I own one of Smith and Wesson's blued .380, great gun.

I usually carry a blued Interarms PPK .380. I love it because it fits my hand really well but you have to watch out or it will bite ya! The slide can hit the web of your hand if you're not careful which is why S&W extended the beaver tail.

That's interesting. Sad that they're dropping the license, but I'm glad I got mine while I had the chance. I personally don't understand why everyone gets so up in arms over the extended beavertail. The whole point is that it prevents slide bite which was a huge problem with PPKs.

My problem with the beaver tail is the look. I like the classic look and I've never had a slide bite. I honesty think S&W could have sold more PPKs if they had kept the original look but had a separate extended beaver tail model.

Yeah, I understand that people don't like it because of the look, but I wonder why they think it looks so bad. To me, it looks fine. It seems like such a small thing to make people say "it's so ugly!", and I don't understand because I personally like the way it looks. I actually think I like it better with the extended tail. But once again, to each his own lol.

I think its more S&W messed with a classic. The PP line has been around since 1929 so it has a trademark look.

Or an aftermarket beavertail grip and leave the design alone. I've put hundreds or thousands of rounds through .32 and .380 and never had slide bite. But I have small hands...
