(old news?) Sandtroopers had different boots

These don't look like the boots the regular troopers wear. Note how high they are (sticking out the armor seam is the boot's pull strap, I believe), and the thick, treaded soles. And the soles are painted along with the rest of the boot.

I believe that's a Stormtrooper costume from Return of The Jedi, as the closure on the back of the calves is an overlapping join molded into the plastic, as opposed to the seam being covered by a coverstrip that was glued on, as was the constructionmethod used for the first two films.
I believe the sole of the boots was painted in ROTJ as well (for all the Stormtroopers).

Cool picture though, and it makes me curious to its origin, as I can't recall seeing any Stormtroopers on Tatooine in ROTJ.

Man o man is my journey through researching storm trooper armor and helmets to buy getting better and better. Not only am l finding new armor, but learning so much about the costumes them selves. What fun is this? I'm sure l never really grew up and became just some boring old fart!
