My original BSG Cylon head
Hello, I have been digging thru my "archives" recently and found one of my favorite pieces, and thought it was worthy to show off:

Re: My original BSG Cylon head
Very cool! Why did they have those holes above the eye slit?

Re: My original BSG Cylon head
The holes above the eye slit were so that the person wearing the helmet could see. The actual "eye" slot had the Larson scanner in it.

Re: My original BSG Cylon head
Nice job on the chrome. How was it done and what is the helmet made of?

Re: My original BSG Cylon head
Heh, well I'm not an officianado on chroming. But it seems like the type of chroming found on toys and such. No clearcoating, and all that. The helmet is vacuformed in 2 main halves, the mouth is also vacuformed (so it's no hero head, though it does have the working eye), and the eye socket is cast resin of some kind. I really love this piece. I've owned original BSG warrior outfits, etc. but I will always prefer the armor/robots.

Wow, now that's a prop to be proud of!
Would you mind showing a few more details like the electronics inside, etc.? You also can PM me if you don't want to post it in public. |

Re: My original BSG Cylon head
A company in Rancho Cucamonga did the chrome - they also did the Raiders of the Lost Ark gold on the Amulet, Idol & Ark Angels.

Re: My original BSG Cylon head
Very nice indeed. I have one with a textured finish like the gold Vulpa Cylon and it's original working eye. How long have you had yours?

Re: My original BSG Cylon head
What is a Larson scanner?
I also put the gold Cylon up on the auction block. I have had it over 2 years, but it never was mine. I put the deal together, but two weeks after the deal was completed the new owner said sell it. It has on the market since then, and now made its way to the PropWorx auction house for the Aug 27th event. Also the only known 78 version of a Daggit is on the auction block. The SciFi Museum in Seattle has Galactica 1980 fur. http://www.propworx.com/2011/08/09/o...lon-centurion/ http://www.propworx.com/2011/08/09/o...n-used-daggit/ |

Re: My original BSG Cylon head
Wow, what a great gold cylon! Thanks for posting.
![]() I recall in 1992 I was working with a guy at an FX shop who's friend was selling 3 near-complete centurion costumes from his collection, for 3 grand a piece! I didn't have the money at the time and missed out, but I never forgot about that. ![]() Here's a couple more angles of mine. |

Re: My original BSG Cylon head
Sleepless... I would love to see the mouth grill, I've only seen the vacuformed ones... would you consider posting a couple photos of your centurion stuff? Please?
