I've dealt with John plenty of times. A great guy and has a terrific selection of items available![]()
John is a nice guy i sold him my gerard butler and terry crews gamer costumes to him last year
So regret doing that now lol
Why are you pushing this prop site so much???
Because you are "them". Your 'your props' page has items that are still up for sale on the site you are trying to send people to-so you basically just posted a link to your own prop site and asked everyone to friend YOU on facebook, told everyone about YOUR contest, to drum up sales for YOU. Cheesy tactic and it belongs in the junkyard section.
Yeah, pretending to be someone your not is not appreciated on this site.
It's one thing to promote your site, it's another thing to try and "trick" the community with a false "fan" persona.
Nick
what a stupid comment for a start backtothemovies is a marketing site to market prop stores and to promote the hobby as well as independent and high budget films dont believe me?? go on my youtube page .. type in backtothemovies and find out for yourself.. I am not john !! the movie prop warehouse is a great site for bargain props and aswell as that site I also market the prop store also !! so before you make comments like that I suggest asking me in a private message first before assuming things
So what you're saying is, this entire thread is an advertisement? A crummy commercial?
Be sure to drink your Ovaltine - YouTube
I will tell you what is stupid...thinking people were going to be fooled for long. Not on this site. You can plainly see that your items on 'your props' page link has a Nacho Libre ticket, a SST Morita cartridge, a Deep Impact folder, etc...all of which are being sold right now on the MPW site. Same items. Also MPW contacted us through our ebay messages (and I am sure many other people too) to get us to go to their site just before you came in here and posted this-there is no way this is a coincidence...which brings me to: You can't solicit sales in any forum section on the RPF outside of the junkyard! Maybe you should read the rules before coming here and posting propaganda (pun intended). Also don't send me a private message again to try to stop me from stating the obvious in the forum or I will post it. Wormy thing to do. Who are you trying to convince that you are a different party than MPW? Me, everyone on the site, or yourself? You got caught. Cut and dry. Move along. Move along.
haha (another quote)
Now if you are really here to just discuss screen-used props and costumes with other collectors, great lets talk about our collections. If you are here to add links in several different threads to further your (sorry, I meant your 'friend's') site then again wrong section. BTW have you ever heard of The Prop Store of London...being that you live there you probably have. They sponsor this site so maybe you should go look at what they have for sale. I wasn't going to respond to your private message to me or postings again until I saw your pithy little comment I quoted above. Save it all, I am really the wrong guy. What was that you wrote in the PM? If I am privately contacting John then I am going over a line? What are you talking about man? I haven't PMed anyone. Nor would it be any of your business. Unless you are John of course.
Bottom line. Don't market anything in this section.
my god when you find out how wrong you are you will feel stupid !! have you ever thought that im a prop collector myself and i SOLD MY ITEMS to the MPW?? theres like what only a handful of items on my your props that were sold to John .. my god get a life.. and poor john got messages saying he was advertising as me on the RPF thats why i mentioned it because only you seem to have this problem. The deep impact folder was mine that I sold to john, the mortila rifle i brought from the prop store and sold to john, the nacho libre ticket is still in my collection but john has more than one for sale the same with the braveheart arrow, there are more than just one of those props available for sale !
Bottom line is, I apologise if I led you to believe that I was John.. I have countless proof that works against it but nevermind if you think im John then whatever lets you sleep at night buddy. I know the prop store rather well yes I interviewed Stephen for my page hes a great guy, but what does that have to do with anything?? Im not selling anything nor have I listed anything for sale I was just wondering if anyone had heard of the movie prop warehouse.. that is all.. no selling, no marketing just a simple question !!
Im sure your post was ment to be innocent but it definitely suspicious. Like other I have bought from MPW before, and yes like you have stated they have great prices but a lot of little props that a serious collector wouldnt even consider.
The part thats extremely suspect on your part is this:
You start by posing a question asking if we heard about them because it seems you might be interested in buying something but arent sure of their rep.Hey guys has anyone heard about the movie prop warehouse?
Now theres a sales pitchthey sell authentic movie props at some fantastic prices !
Again posing a question because it seems you are interestedhas anyone dealt with them in the past
And now back to the infomercial sales pitch.and would they recommend this company for some great bargain props !!
Then a few posts later....
After you saw people have infact bought/sold from MPW and gave a positive review, it seems your tactics worked because then you postyeah he really does !
Then there's this out of left field,...back to the hardcore sales pitch. Apparently you already know how good MPW is, so then why make your original post asking if we have heard of them. On top of that you ARE in fact soliciting us to go and like his page to try and win a voucher. This is where its kinda confusing because why on earth would you post that in a thread you started asking if we ever heard of the site. The only explanation is you are advertising for the site but trying to strum up talk and interest by presenting a false question.would you guys mind liking his facebook page hes running a competition to win £100 worth of props from his site if you guys are interested
Even if you arent John or Glen, re-read what you posted and look at it as a third party and tell me what the goal of your original post was.
Shady tactics are shady just sayin'
But yes I do agree with you MPW has some neat stuff.

Just to clarify this situation... we have absolutely nothing against Movie Prop Warehouse, but we do have a problem with anyone that attempts to pretend to not know anything about a particular company by starting threads or making posts supposedly looking for recommendations regarding that company, when in fact, they have or are already doing business with that company and are just shilling/adverting for that company.
We do realize that leaving this thread up, to a certain extent, is still an advertisement for Movie Prop Warehouse, but we felt it was important to show that what backtothemovies did will not be tolerated on the RPF.
Here is member jonniedarko's (John Page) response to what has transpired.
A quick introduction, my name is John Page and I own The Movie Prop Warehouse.
I am not backtothemovies.
I was alerted to a thread regarding my company on this forum by several customers, by which point the thread was closed and we were unable to make comment.
I thought it best to join the forum and give a background of who we are and who backtothemovies are. We were contacted several months back by Sean from Back to the Movies, which at the time was a fledgling Marketing company, to see if we were interested in any Social Media advertising. As we had no youtube or twitter accounts we decided to let Sean make a video review of several of our props. I believe several companies were also given the same offer, and as Propstore already had video footage of their items they opted for an interview. Later Sean also made a video tour of our website, this was made independently to us and again without our request.
We recently ran a facebook competition and I did request that Sean give a ‘Twitter’ shout out about the competition, as they have a following of several thousand people. It would appear Sean extended that shout out to several sources including here.
I fully agree that Seans post and previous posts are Spam and do not condone this course of advertising. I must again stress they were made without our consent.
With regards to Seans private collection, we traded 4 items recently and as is the case with several users of yourprops the items were not deleted from his collection. However there are several items that he did buy that we have in huge numbers that remain for sale on our site and within other peoples collections. One item quoted is the Nacho Libre ticket, we have over 50 of these all with different numbers, you can see the number on ours differs to the number on Seans.
My thanks go out to the customers who gave us positive feedback in this thread and to the RPF administrators for keeping a cool head and ending it.
I am happy to answer any questions anyone may have regarding this issue.
Best regards
John Page
