Well, I've never seen the guess jacket, burnt orange vest, nike, etc... anywhere.

anybody?

For the most part it was parted and sold. I don't know if the checkered "safari" shirt, orange vest or Guess jean jacket were ever found. I think I saw a pair of Marty's jeans and NIKE's somewhere in a private collection.

Here is the tshirt that sold at screenused.com

So does anybody know if its the same shirt used in 1 and 2?

Wait 4 more years and you can buy some of his costume in the Blast From The Past store... (look behind the "do your thing" sign)

If anyone found the jacket, they'd be rich! Same with the vest.

The jacket was a standard issue item and there are some identical vintage (although not very many) vests which come up for sale now and again.
The red vest are more popular in terms of sales.

There is a great deal of debate whether the jacket was in fact a stock item.
I took the liberty of writing to Guess on this very issue (v. nice people). They went away and went to their ctalogued stock. They keep one of each line/item made by season and year.
Eventually, they came back to me (the lady in question was a big BTTF fan) and according to Guess, there is no record of this item (I sent a photo) being a stock line.
She said there are similar jackets in slightly different colourways and materials, but not an exact match.
Maybe that's wrong, but that's what the manufacturers say.

I can say that in about 15 years of careful and dedicated searching i have never ever seen one for sale on Ebay and there has never (to my limited knowledge) been an original jacket displayed on any of the usual websites.

Eventually, I had a limited run of 10 jackets made in Japan as close to the original as I could.
They were brilliant.

Let's face it - if an original did exists somewhere, imagine a 30+ year old denim jacket now - would it look like the one in the movie?
Of course not.

I realised it's a futile and fruitless search.

Well this BTTF fan like many others didn't give up and landed the jackpot.

This is the closest match as most others have the reverse color pattern. This one has the correct dark color for the shoulders and pocket covers.

Another detailed thread discussing the jacket. In one of the posts one member named Matt posted a photo of him wearing the exact same Guess jacket from the 80s. But the BTTF.com forum thread pages are all screwed up and hard to navigate through.

In conclusion that exact denim jacket exists and Guess manufactured them and they were available in stores.

Despite the fact that I should be tired of Marty - I'm not at all -and would freaking love to get my hands on a freaking Denim Marty Jacket ! I just don't want to pay stupid amounts on money !!!

Thank you. I'm missing it too, but I didn't want to be the first to mention it. :lol

It's Marty's denim jacket from 1985 for sale in the window. (From the original BTTF) You can see the guitar and 'Art in Revolution' pins on the jacket if you look just to the right of the sign.
