I snapped this pic with my phone.....
Any chance this terminal was refitted from a Death Star one? Just looks familiar...possibly from the detention area? Keep in mind this same room also had the exact same trunk that old Ben had in his place.

My gut says yes. And here's something to back it up:
List of Pinewood Studios productions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
1977
The People That Time Forgot
The Medusa Touch
Meetings With Remarkable Men
Wombling Free
Superman
Star Wars
Death On The Nile
Warlords of Atlantis
International Velvet
Nice catch!
Wasn't his kryptonite necklace trunk also Obi-wan's trunk? Another link...
Tom
Hmm...there may be many star wars props in Superman then....very interesting. Yes Tom..the same trunk!
Hmm..looks similar to the one in the control room..

No SW scenes involving that hardware were shot at Pinewood. Doesn't rule it out, though.
If I'm not mistaken, the panel used to fire the super weapon was a Grass Valley live switcher. I think I still have it in the basement at work.
It was almost the exact same art department from Star Wars under Production Designer John Barry that worked on Superman I and II (not the Lester footage...) So I am reasonably sure that if his control panel wasn't one used in Star Wars, it was designed and built by the same people... just a few months later.
