Electronics help
Ok guys, i recently aquired datas arm from Generations, and it has a load of LEDS, but i need some help to get them lit.
Does anyone know how to fire this bad boy up, and also, maybe a contact for the person who made it? Here is a pic of the connector and 4 stripped wires.

Re: Electronics help
ewww, I think you need an actual power supply for that plug/prong/doohicky/gizmo. You may get lucky and a computer 12v power supply may be it but do wait to see if the maker possibly chimes in.

Re: Electronics help
DB15 connectors are just a cheap and easy way to connect multiple things at once. Without knowing what the wires are connected to though it's impossible to say how to go about powering it.

Re: Electronics help
LEDs take a lot less than 12V - if you do that you'll probably wreck it.
Start probing around with a meter on that connector, or just observe how it's connected up internally. LEDs need current limiting which may or may not be built into the prop itself, depending how it's wired. Can you post some more pictures of how it's been done internally? HF |
