The Dark Knight Rises- Pittsburgh Filming
I finally got around to taking a photo of these. My dad and I were in the Stadium scene for The Dark Knight Rises, filmed at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, PA. We were allowed to make signs to hold, so this is mine. We were also given a "treat bag" that had snacks, sunscreen, and one of these yellow bandannas. Since this is Pittsburgh, most people waved them like "Terrible Towels". This is my set pass (I used the meal tickets). The stuff in the bag is fake snow, gathered on Smithfield St. The scene being filmed was three stolen Tumblers escorting a military truck carrying a "device", and being pursued by the Batwing.

Very cool to be an extra for the last in the series of Nolan's Bat films. Did you get a shirt as well? Also, did the bandana have the Rogues logo?

The bandannas look like motel napkins- fairly thin material, no logo. I got a bunch of them, though- people were just leaving them behind. We were told multiple times that no cameras were permitted, so I left mine at home, but I should have taken it- no one cared if you took a photo. It was great to see how long it really takes to make this kind of film- we were there for 13 hours, filming a winter scene in August, that will probably be less than 5 minutes on screen. Got to see Nolan, and Tom Hardy. Also learned that our Mayor really can kick- he plays the kicker for the Rapid City Monuments! |

Only the front row seats had the bandanas with the GR logo, everyone far away from the camera had the blank towels
There was a closeup bandana on SU yesterday: Items for Sale You can see the crowds GR gear here, there looks to have been lots of different clothing worn with GR logos: All Dark Knight Rises Pics - BeInAMovie.com Photo Pages |
