It's been a while, but it is still unanswered about the boots.
I loved those boots. I didn't think anyone else noticed them. I think the director had a fetish.
a few years back I found a few sets of them at the Fox costume rentals dept sitting next to a pair of Wash's shoes from Firefly. Unless they went out on a bulk sale, they should still be there.
