Okay, did the baby puppet get there? Let's see it. Is that better?
Laffo.
Yes, the baby chimp is in the house. I will upload photos of him tonight.
This is what I have left to do in three weeks:
Sideburns
Appliance repaint
Move the shoulder seams up by three inches
Remove the front green panel of chimp outfit and replace (glue spill at Wondercon)
New teeth
Sew new inner sleeves with the material I just found at Jo-Ann's
Am I forgetting anything?
Oh yes...I have to install a stick to my new baby chimp puppet prop.

Get busy Monkey. None of that is too much. You can do it.
Laffo.
Finished the forehead tying of the hair!
Here are photos of Axis, my new old chimp in the house. (His previous owner named his Axis).

Nice chimp. Looks alive in those last two shots. The face paint is kinda horribly bland though, imo.
The face of the baby chimp needs work. Won't have time for a repaint though. Two more nights to tweak my costume since I'm too tired to work on it tonight. Bummer.
Still fussing with the hair, trying to get it just right....can't really tell how it will look until it's on though...hoping not to look like the monkey king.

Looking forward to seeing the result of all your work!![]()
Your costume makes me want to see all the movies again.![]()
I wonder what would happen if I did not glue down the appliance over my dimples...leaving a big patch on the cheeks of the appliance unglued. I will try that to see if my dimples still show up when I smile.
Here is a photo of the same appliance I peeled off when I first went under the goo, my "battle damage Zira." It's just plopped onto my face, not glued yet, and needs to be retouched with rubber mask grease paint. Damned dimples still show up.

Great costume and looks like you had a lot of fun too.
I have a gorilla soldier outfit, with real undersuit and bandolier, but I can't wear the makeup. Allergic to the damn glue. Last time I glued appliances on for vampire makeup, the next morning my face blew up like cauliflower. Maybe I'll pick up one of the gorilla masks from Apemania at some point.
You are doing a fabulous job on this, keep it up. Love the Apes.
Oh, I know there are different options, but if it's adhesive, it tends to be a problem.
Actually, though my outfit is collecting dust, as a static display that can be kept out all the time on a gorillaized mannequin, it's enjoyed more than most folks's costumes that go into the clost.
I took this photo today. I ended up leaving the chimp in the car, because I didn't want to have to lug anything. He was well behaved though...and didn't leave a mess for me to clean up afterwards.
Didn't have time to re-do the shoulder seams, because I waited until the last possible moment and then I didn't want to mess up rushing.

I'm glad Caesar was a good boy, and the costume is very cool.![]()
Thank you!! The makeup (especially hair and sideburns) were such a total improvement from the last time!!! This photo was taken before I added the outline around my eyes.
Here I am holding a Mego figure for a custom project on another forum.

Great costume--you make a wonderful Zira- have you found "Bright Eyes" yet?
Simply outstanding work. Level of difficulty high as well.
Just incredible!!! Best POTA costume I've ever seen outside of the production.![]()
