Thanks, it really turned out better than I was hoping for. Just sprayed it first with brown primer, then used ModelMaster enamels. Then I rubbed it with river sand. After about eight months of wear it looks pretty good.

The curve makes a world of difference in making it comfortable to wear.

I don't have my Indiana MetalCraft buckle anymore, sent it off to a guy who was supposed to make me a solid brass copy and never heard from him or saw the buckle again.

I have yet to find another one of these SandyVals but they have to be out there as I have found other SandVal buckles of different designs.
I'll post a picture of the back shortly.

Here's the back of the buckle. The brass crossbar is soldered in place, I'd feel more comfortable if it was pinned and soldered but it seems to hold up well as it is.
If anyone knows more of the origins and history of the Indian buckle in regards to Wolverine let me know.

Patterson - you can wash it down any way you like... soak it with a hose, in the shower, sink, whatever. Or if you mean with Alcohol, you can hit it with 70% first and rub it down, then go from there until you have what you like.
Thanks, bud. So, the usual. Just wondered if you'd done anything unusual.

I've picked up some 90% at CVS. We're getting severe storm warnings tonight, so I'll probably hang her over the back of one of the deck chairs and let a little soft rain water do it's thing. Even with water softening, we have a lot of iron and calcium in the tap water. It left white residue on my Magnoli XO.

It's 101d f here in central Indiana. Monday on we're looking at highs in the low 70's and lows in the mid 50's. Yehaw!!!

A.) My AC compressors can take a break!
B.) I can start WEARING these jackets again!

I'm looking at these belt buckles. That pre-adamantium version you showed us? Where would one obtain one? Also, what's the authoritative source for the chief version?

Saw someone in a Wolverine get-up this morning at the Dragoncon parade, including the jacket. I think it was an X-1. Looked nice. I was nowhere near close enough to take a picture, but I couldn't help but wonder if it was someone here.

Maybe... There are lots of us all over the world that get into the Wolverine/Logan look. He's cool and inspirational with that burly attitude of his.

Thanks for the shot of the backside of the buckle. Looks like it was haphazardly soldered on, which may give at any time, or at least that's how it appears. I wonder if they were all soldered that way?

Yes I agree, the soldering really does look haphazard but it seems to do the job. Even so I'd like to put in a couple of pins. I've seen a few other SandyVals (not the chief, I've only seen one of those) and they all have the brass crossbar with the soldering.

RD, I can see why you're impatient. The design has come along way in 14 months. I'd love to actually see Dan's version as well, to compare the two in person.

    Jorge,
Is there any way you can post an image with the arms completely down at the side?

Jorge...Also could you do a back profile with the shirt tucked in and also what Drool stated? This is one of those jackets you have to wear with the shirt tucked in unless it's shorter than the length of the jacket. Can't stand seeing shirts longer than jackets

Glad I'm not the only one - drives me frigging NUTS when a guy drops a wad on a nice jacket and can't tuck his shirt in. Secret for ya guys? Women will notice your shirt out and think you're a slob and never even notice a bitchin jacket. Important safety tip.

Ah, that's right. What seems to be your biggest concern, the shoulder adjustment? Is your current jacket not fitted right after you relaxed the shoulders?

My jacket is pretty tight in the armpit are and can be uncomfortable to wear. This also translates into not having enough room on the back to. i have a hard time driving with it. Its Gets very tight across the back and the shoulders.

Bowel - That's due to the incorrect sleeve shape and arm-hole configuration. Your jacket looked even more pointy shouldered than Drool's in the beginning. And frankly there is no amount of "relaxing" that will fix the issue. Since it seems to be sized slightly wrong for your body shape in those areas, maybe Heron will take it for an exchange or to retrofit the proper sleeve shape and drop the armhole a bit for you...

What is irritating is i gave Miguel my bicep/tricep and fore arm measurements to avoid this problem.. But i feel they were overlooked. Its comfortable to wear until i have to move my arms, Then it becomes very uncomfortable.

Been there with other makers... Pinching under the armpit and numbness in the hands. Makes a jacket unwearable for it's intended purpose. Personally I've returned them when it's happened to me. Jmo...

I have aleady really worn the hell out of it. A return is not possible. Maybe they will mod it with all the new additions and make a proper fit actoss my back and in my arms. i was under the impression the jacket would settle to be comfortable. It has so far but not even close to enough. I cant even talk on a cell phone when i have the jacket on, that's how tight the arms are.

Have you spoken with Jorge about these fittting issues when the jacket arrived and you first put it on? It seemed you were happy with the jacket at first.
